Blogger 4men1lady describes your average portable crib as “the doo-hickey that needs 4 adults with high IQs working in unison to assemble and disassemble; mid setup, it looks like a disastrous game of Twister with lots of cursing.” That’s bad enough if you’re just using it for naps around the house, but what if you’re trying to actually use your travel crib for baby’s naps at a relative’s house or at a hotel?
Life is too short to wrestle with lousy travel cribs, which is why we love the 4moms Breeze Playard / Portable Crib: it opens and closes in one simple step. Here’s how you do it:
To open: Just push down on the knob in the center of the folded Breeze, and it pops open perfectly.
To close: Pull up a tab in the center and the corners pop inwards, creating a compact and easy-to-carry package.
And yes, we did say it’s easy to carry: the 2015 version of the Breeze is a full 6 pounds lighter than the original! At 24.5 pounds, the folded Breeze, riding in its carry bag, weighs about the same as a fully-featured stroller (maybe a bit less). So if you’re traveling with your baby, it’s easy to take it along for the ride, or if you just want to put baby down for her nap in a room closer to where you’re working than the nursery, you can easy tote your Breeze Playard across the house.
Along with the gloriously fast setup, the Breeze boasts a removable bassinet attachment, and full mesh side-walls for proper ventilation. Reviewers also say that it feels super-stable (which can also be an issue with your lesser travel cribs), and that kids are really comfortable in it.
The 4moms Breeze Travel Crib / Playard measures 45.5” x 32” x 29” open, and 12.5” x 12.5” x 31” with the mattress included. Suitable for use from birth up to 30 pounds or 35 inches in height.
