"New Baby Gear Retailer Opens In Cambridge"

Magic Beans, a Boston-based baby gear and toy retailer, will celebrate the opening of its newest store in Cambridge.

The store, the company's fourth location, will celebrate with a grand opening event this weekend (Feb. 5-7).

The co-founders and owners, husband and wife team Eli and Sheri Gurock, hope to offer a new option for Cambridge residents searching for both toys and baby gear in a single location.

"The more we learn about Cambridge, it is so family-friendly, so diverse," said Eli Gurock.

That unique, diverse setting is a perfect match for the variety of products, including items for newborns through teenagers, offered by Magic Beans, he said.

The Gurocks opened the first Magic Beans store in Brookline in 2004. As parents themselves and expecting their second child at the time, the couple noticed a lack of high-quality baby supply and toy stores in the area and saw an opportunity for a business, said Gurock. There are currently Magic Beans in Wellesley and Hingham, in addition to Cambridge and Brookline.

The weekend event features promotions including secret specials on Bugaboo and Baby Jogger strollers, 10 percent off any Go Gaga diaper bags, and other sales and giveaways.

The new store is located at 361 Huron Ave. in Cambridge, and current hours are Monday through Wednesday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Magic Beans invites all friends and neighbors to come by for a visit.
