Do-Re-Mi Musical Building Blocks by Babalu

Xylophones come in many forms, both exotic and ordinary. The Indonesian gambang has teak bars, and uses mallets made of water buffalo horn and felt; the African marimba was originally made with wooden bars mounted on top of a gourd, and adjusted with wasp wax. But these exotic xylophones work on the same principle as the simple metal rainbow-keyed xylophones we played as kids.
