What I love about the K'tan carrier is that it is like a wrap - so you get that awesome swaddled hold for a newborn - except its all put together for you. No need to learn how to tie five thousand different knots, just slide into it for the most part. Another upside there is no dragging it on nasty parking lots while trying to get situated. It is essential to be able to adjust the sling so that it is very snug and baby can be secure as possible. I just didn't feel comfortable that he was in properly. It would often stretch too much and my son would slide down. The fixed design of the sling makes getting the correct size essential and also limits it to only same sized people in your household. My husband and I are over 6 inches and 50 lbs apart (him bigger!) so we would have had to buy two!
Although they advertise this as a good sling for forward facing carries, all the baby wearing experts I learned from (Boston Baby wearers group and LLL) recommend against this as it out strain on the pelvis and hip areas of baby and is not good for developing bodies..
