You're not a big believer in astrology, but when you look up your baby's sign and discover that people born under the sign of Gemini are boisterous and attention-loving, it makes total sense. He's been a people person from day one, and now that he's added a daffy, gorgeous toothless smile to his repertoire, everyone is drawn to him. And he doesn't ever, ever want to be put down.
That's okay, because with the Beco Baby Gemini Baby Carrier, you can keep your Gemini baby close – very close, since the carrier doesn't put any fabric between you and your child. And if he wants to interact with all the fascinating strangers who admire him everywhere you go, you can wear him facing out (as well as facing in, or, when he's older, on your back).
Mom reviewers everywhere have praised how easy it is to put the Beco Gemini baby carrier on, and how comfortable it is, with wide padded shoulder straps and a nice wide waist belt for lumbar support (adjusts from 27" – 59"). The baby's weight is mostly on your hips in any position, sparing your shoulders and back. And you can start wearing your baby from birth on, with no need for an insert: the weight requirements for this infant carrier are 7 – 35 pounds.
The Beco Gemini baby carrier is also designed for baby's comfort: the tall, wide body provides him with excellent support and proper positioning. Snaps at the bottom let you narrow the bottom's width to position the baby's legs comfortably if you face him outwards. The head support can be folded up or down, so your baby can see out, or have a place to rest his head while he snoozes.
Finally, Beco Baby didn't forget about safety: the buckles are designed to require two hands to open – there's no way this carrier is falling off. And the cotton and polyester fabrics are gentle to baby skin. Machine-washable.
No fabric between you and your child
Keeps your baby snuggled up close.
Wide padded shoulder straps
Distribute the weight well on your shoulders to keep you comfortable all day long.
Wide waist belt
Provides lumbar support, helping you to bear your baby's weight comfortably.
Weight requirement 7-35 pounds
You can start carrying most babies in this carrier from birth onwards.
Snaps at the bottom
Allow you to adjust the width of the bottom for your baby's comfort whether he's facing forwards or backwards.
Fold-down head support
Lets you fold the head support down so your baby can see what's around him, or fold it up so his head is supported while he naps.
Two-handed buckle design
Because it requires two hands to open these buckles, it's nearly impossible for them to be opened accidentally.
Comfortable, versatile, cute
With my second child, I have finally found an amazing carrier. He can face out or in comfortably and easily. The newborn setting needs no insert, just the click of two snaps. A huge plus. It is a dream to wear for hours on end, even with a 1-year-old. It is so simple and fast to put on - no straps to fasten behind you (on the sides where you can see them). It is easy to adjust the straps when the baby is already fully in the carrier for just the right fit. I had the ergo and k'tan previously. The ergo was a nightmare for me - the straps kept falling off my shoulders and I couldn't get those back straps fastened without assistance. The K'tan was comfortable for short periods, but more difficult to get into and wear for extended periods. But, this carrier is just so fast, comfortable, easy, washable and the baby feels really secure and safe in it. I wear my second child so much more than my first because of this carrier. And, a note on the 'safety' buckles with the third little button in the middle. It is easy to learn to work around them to make this carrier a true one handed release - push in the middle button while pushing in one of the two sides of the buckle so it comes just slightly out at an angle to keep the middle button disengaged and then squeeze open the buckle as you typically would. Takes a little practice - but only needing one hand to unbuckle is really helpful.
Front facing, comfy, adjustable, stylish
My partner did a lot of research into the world of baby carriers, and this is the one we ended up with. We LOVE it! This is one of the rare front-facing carrier options and that's important to us, because our son is a little more than curious :)
Magic Beans staff (Abby!) really helped us try it on, take it for a test ride and get comfortable with it. And from the moment our little one was placed inside, he was in his element. It's like his safe space, but he still gets a bird's eye view of what's going on outside. And when he's ready to nap, it's easy to turn him inward, make a few easy strap adjustments and he's ready to fall into a deep slumber, especially in the warmth and security of his mom.
As I was beginning to write this review, my partner came into my office, our son all tucked up in the carrier, ready to go for a walk outside. And when they come back, she'll likely make lunch for us, without taking the carrier off. She sings its praises when it comes to multi-tasking. So much more can happen around the house now that we have the Beco. We really do love it! We bought it for ourselves as our dual Christmas present, and we've absolutely no regrets!
comfortable, secure, cozy for baby, sized for smaller baby
could sometimes use an extra hand to undo buckle
We considered a few carriers, the k'tan, I was attracted to because it was hardware free, but one size wouldn't fit for both my husband and I. Tried out the Ergo and this Beco in store, but Beco had the smaller leg opening for our 14lb 3month old baby. The weight distribution to the hips is great, and baby got used to being carried in it quickly, and has good time falling sleeping in it or looking around in it when we go for walks and errand trips. A good number of our friends have this too, and comes highly recommended.
Comfortable, Easy to use
I have tried several carriers, including the Baby Bjorn, moby, ergo, and slings, and while some of the others have some pros, this is the catch-all carrier! The cotton fabric is soft and comfortable for both the wearer and the baby, and the structure and design makes it easy for me to carry my baby around for hours, literally - walking around downtown Boston, or my neighborhood, or just my house, without feeling at all tired or achy. It doesn't require a newborn insert, several steps, or a time commitment to get the baby into it, which is a major factor for me when there's a lot of crying going on. I've only thus far used it in the front baby-facing-you position, but I love that you can wear it in several different ways. Plus, it comes in really cute prints/colors!
Comfortable, Versatile, Easy to use
I have a large collection of carriers from a moby to an ergo to a few slings. The Beco Gemini is my newest addition and both my and my husband's favorite. Our new baby is very big so we needed something comfortable but we also needed something easy to use as we have other children to take care of. The Beco Gemini is as comfortable as the ergo but can be used facing in, facing out, and with or without extra head support. It's easy to put on, put the baby in, and change positions. I highly recommend this carrier. Despite owning several, right now it's the only one we use.
