My partner did a lot of research into the world of baby carriers, and this is the one we ended up with. We LOVE it! This is one of the rare front-facing carrier options and that's important to us, because our son is a little more than curious :)

Magic Beans staff (Abby!) really helped us try it on, take it for a test ride and get comfortable with it. And from the moment our little one was placed inside, he was in his element. It's like his safe space, but he still gets a bird's eye view of what's going on outside. And when he's ready to nap, it's easy to turn him inward, make a few easy strap adjustments and he's ready to fall into a deep slumber, especially in the warmth and security of his mom.

As I was beginning to write this review, my partner came into my office, our son all tucked up in the carrier, ready to go for a walk outside. And when they come back, she'll likely make lunch for us, without taking the carrier off. She sings its praises when it comes to multi-tasking. So much more can happen around the house now that we have the Beco. We really do love it! We bought it for ourselves as our dual Christmas present, and we've absolutely no regrets!

We considered a few carriers, the k'tan, I was attracted to because it was hardware free, but one size wouldn't fit for both my husband and I. Tried out the Ergo and this Beco in store, but Beco had the smaller leg opening for our 14lb 3month old baby. The weight distribution to the hips is great, and baby got used to being carried in it quickly, and has good time falling sleeping in it or looking around in it when we go for walks and errand trips. A good number of our friends have this too, and comes highly recommended.

I have tried several carriers, including the Baby Bjorn, moby, ergo, and slings, and while some of the others have some pros, this is the catch-all carrier! The cotton fabric is soft and comfortable for both the wearer and the baby, and the structure and design makes it easy for me to carry my baby around for hours, literally - walking around downtown Boston, or my neighborhood, or just my house, without feeling at all tired or achy. It doesn't require a newborn insert, several steps, or a time commitment to get the baby into it, which is a major factor for me when there's a lot of crying going on. I've only thus far used it in the front baby-facing-you position, but I love that you can wear it in several different ways. Plus, it comes in really cute prints/colors!

I have a large collection of carriers from a moby to an ergo to a few slings. The Beco Gemini is my newest addition and both my and my husband's favorite. Our new baby is very big so we needed something comfortable but we also needed something easy to use as we have other children to take care of. The Beco Gemini is as comfortable as the ergo but can be used facing in, facing out, and with or without extra head support. It's easy to put on, put the baby in, and change positions. I highly recommend this carrier. Despite owning several, right now it's the only one we use.
