about the Fastrack

Computer game designer Chris Crawford defines a "competition" as a situation in which players attempt to outperform each other without interference back and forth. A "game," in Crawford's definition, permits players to interfere with each other's performance (say, by attacking your opponent's pieces in chess, or tackling someone in football).

Fastrack by Blue Orange most certainly fits Crawford's definition of a game. Each opponent starts with five wooden disks; to play, you shoot your disks with an elastic band, and try to get them through a small hole to the other side of the barrier. The problem is, your opponent is trying to use the same small hole at the same time. To win, you need speed, accuracy, and timing, and when all the pieces are on your opponent's side, you win!

The handsome wooden Fastrack board is enclosed on all sides to keep pieces in, and has a checkered pattern that evokes car racing. Includes ten wooden disks and a rule book; recommended for ages 5 and up.

WARNING: CHOKING HAZARD - Small parts. Not for children under 3 years.
