The Britax Marathon 70 is a convertible seat that accommodates babies weighing 5 to 40 pounds in the rear-facing position, and children from 1 year old and weighing 20 to 70 pounds in a forward-facing position.
The Britax Marathon 70 is a convertible car seat that will last most children from birth until they are ready to move into a booster seat. The Quick-Adjust harness straps allow you to easily adjust the height of the shoulder straps without having to uninstall the car seat. The deep side walls of the Marathon 70 provide side-impact protection around your child's head and body.
Some of the noteworthy safety features on the Britax Marathon 70 include the patented Versa-Tether™, built-in lock-offs, LATCH system connectors, and energy-absorbing EPP foam. The 5-point harness has four different shoulder heights that adjust at the back of the seat. A button in front allows you to fine tune the straps' snugness, depending if your child is wearing a bulky coat on a short ride to school, or just their PJs for an overnight trip.

Great transition car seat

We were ready to make the transition and lose the bucket, but we didn't know what to do next. Our baby still needs to be rear facing and we want to keep her that way for as long as possible. This car seat is beautiful and very roomy. The people at Magic Beans are really helpful and know a lot about car seat safety. I highly recommend this car seat!

This seat is awesome! My son loves it and it is easy to install. I love the different levels of recline. It's easy to adjust and when installed properly is very safe. My only complaint is that I wish the seat was a little deeper to allow more leg room for the older toddler that is still rear facing. :)

i was bummed when my 8 month old outgrew her chicco keyfit 30 (which we LOVED and hoped would last a year), so after way too much online research looking for the next seat i originally ordered the sunshine kids radian xtsl but had to return it due to its awkward fit (it's really tall) in my little honda fit as well as its extreme weight and bulk (i could hardly carry it out to the car much less through an airport, or down a plane aisle--it's that heavy), so i was DELIGHTED when i went into the magicbeans store and found that the britax marathon 70 fits perfectly in my car [...] fyi, the boulevard is the same size so that fits too). the carseat fits both rear and forward facing in either the middle or passenger side of the back seat, with the front passenger seat only 1/4 of the way up (more legroom up there now than with the chicco!). it's light enough to lug it around, is surprisingly compact, and is SUPER easy to install and reinstall in other cars (the versa-tether was the only confusing aspect and there is a video on the britax website to help with that).

I love this car seat because it is easy to install (less than a minute). Even though my daughter is 16 months, we still have her rear-facing and my daughter seems very comfortable in the seat. The only problem we have had so far is moving the seat from one car to another...it is pretty heavy. But, since we only have one car, it isn't that often that we have to move it.
