Stroller Comparison

Bugaboo Cameleon vs. Cameleon 3

The top of the line just got better.

When we first met the Bugaboo Cameleon, it was love at first stroll: this elegant, lightweight multi-terrain stroller is packed with features. It’s maneuverable, it’s versatile, it folds compactly, and it carries your child from birth right up through preschool – what’s not to adore? But the redesign of this classic Bugaboo stroller does the impossible: it makes a stroller that’s incredibly easy to use even easier.

Like the older model, the new Bugaboo Cameleon 3 Stroller is lightweight, compact, multi-terrain, and has a reversible, height-adjustable handlebar. But Bugaboo engineers and designers evaluated consumer feedback to create a Cameleon that’s even better.

Our favorite thing about the Bugaboo 3 Stroller is the redesigned unfold. To unfold your Bugaboo Cameleon 3 stroller chassis, you simply pull up on the handle with one hand and the stroller frame claps sweetly into place. It’s a one-hand, one-step process that’s a dramatic change from the older multi-step unfold – Bugaboo fans rejoice!

While the look of the Bugaboo 3 Stroller isn’t all that different, a full 90% of this stroller has been redesigned, and all of these teeny tweaks add up to easier use. The stroller chassis joints have been redesigned for increased durability, and assorted features have been redesigned for a cleaner look. For instance, the quick-release stroller wheels now pop off with a simple white button, for days when you need to squeeze that chassis into a crowded car trunk. The under-seat stroller basket now attaches with snaps instead of Velcro, and Bugaboo designers added a ton of space to the basket for all of your baby gear (and shopping). The height adjustment on the harness is now smoother and easier, too, and the hand-brake requires only one “click” to engage.

The Bugaboo Cameleon 3 Stroller still has three seat positions facing you or facing the world, including a flat recline for infants, and of course, the seat still transforms into a cozy bassinet for newborns. It’s now quicker and easier to fold your bassinet flat, with the support pieces sewn in so they don’t get lost.

Which Bugaboo Cameleon to choose? They’re both beautiful and fully-featured, so we’ll leave the choice up to you. And we’ll thank Bugaboo for their constant attention to stroller design that makes your life easier. Check out our blog post about Bugaboo Cameleon 3.
