ABOUT THE BUGABOO DONKEY STROLLER
The donkey, Equus asinus, was recruited by humans in ancient times for the purpose of carting people and things around, and has made itself very useful on our behalf ever since. In biblical times, wealth was counted by the number of donkeys a man possessed. Donkeys and mules traveled to the New World with the Conquistadores, and later, they were imported to America by George Washington himself. In the time of the Gold Rush, miners preferred donkeys as pack animals because they were intelligent and good company, and were loyal enough to follow their master right into the mine without being led.
The modern donkey, Equus bugaboous, is just as loyal and hardworking as its predecessors, albeit in a somewhat altered form. Like its animal namesake, the Bugaboo Donkey is good with children, hauls all of your very important cargo, and adapts cheerfully and easily to new circumstances. That last point is what makes this stroller truly special: the Bugaboo Donkey is the first stroller on the market that can transform into a side-by-side double... and back again.
Here's a quick overview of the Bugaboo Donkey's many merits:
Other neat stuff: the Bugaboo Donkey features a one-hand recline that operates separately on either side; as with other Bugaboo models, the seats reverse; and the Bugaboo Donkey folds in one piece with seats or bassinettes installed, and has a neat standing fold. Bugaboo accessories that will be available include car seat adaptors, cup holders, a sun parasol, and, later on this year, a wheeled board. And of course, the Donkey's sister strollers are still available through Magic Beans – the versatile multi-terrain Bugaboo Cameleon and the stylish urban Bugaboo Bee.
With the Bugaboo Donkey, you've got a smartly-designed, versatile beast of burden that can take on any load your family piles on it and keep on rolling happily along. We think that's Equus awesomeus.
MAGIC BEANS STAFF TIP: Families with children with special needs find the cargo basket especially useful – it can hold an oxygen tank or other large items.

4.0 beans out of 5.0 beans Worth the moneyJuly 11th, 2011 1 out of 1 person found this review helpful Pros: Lightweight, Comfortable, Smooth Ride, Easy To Maneuver, Durable Cons: Fold down I preordered the Bugaboo Donkey and was thrilled when it arrived earlier than expected. I have a 14 month old and am expecting another baby any day. For me, finding a double stroller that is easy to use and easy to push has been a thoroughly researched project. I tried out many in stores and most everything was either too bulky, too heavy, hard to steer, impossible to fold......you get the point. Considering the cost it was a bit risky to order the Donkey without touching, feeling and steering it first, but the reviews had been glowing and I figured, worse case scenario, I could stick it on ebay or Craig's List if I hated it. For starters, the stroller is extremely atttractive and gets loads of compliments everywhere we go. I ordered the black and pink duo. Assembly was very simple and I adore the different configurations. The ride is quite smooth and the stroller is very easy to push and feels very light weight. That being said, there is nothing flimsy about the Donkey. I am excited to use it this fall to attend my older boys' football games where we will have to stroll over some rough terrain. The only reason I did not give the Donkey "5 Beans" is because of the fold-down process. It may be that I have not yet mastered folding it with seats attached but at this point I find it easier to remove the seat(s) and/or side basket and then fold the frame to put in the back of my car. I have a Honda Odyssey and have no trouble fitting everything in the back....it's just a little cumbersome to have to do everything separately. I will say though that everything disassembles very quickly and easily and goes back together in a snap. I would definately recommend this stroller to anyone who has two babies at once. Yes, I would recommend this to a friend. You flagged this review Bugaboo Donkey Stroller with Black Base Lindsay Englewood, NJ
4.0 beans out of 5.0 beans It's here!!!!May 8th, 2011 2 out of 2 people found this review helpful Pros: Easy To Maneuver, Easy fold, Stylish, Comfortable, Smooth Ride, Durable Cons: Bulky I was so excited for my Bugaboo to arrive that the moment it was delivered i quickly assembled it and put my kids in (3 month old and 2 year old). I was amazed at how quickly i was able to assemble it and how easy it was. i was really impressed with the light weight feel and how easy it pushed on the hills in my community. It is very bulky and when traveling with it it takes up a lot of space in the trunk so if your planning on using it in and out of the car i would not recommend it. A major plus is the ability to take the stroller from a mono-duo-mono. I already have used it many times as a duo, dropped off one child, and turned it into a mono to take my other child to his friends house. A great feature is the ability to turn each seat individually, so my children can choose to face each other, face me, or face the world. Bottom Line: love the stroller and recommend it to all my friends Yes, I would recommend this to a friend. You flagged this review Bugaboo Donkey Stroller with Black Base expecting mommy vacaville ca
4.0 beans out of 5.0 beans bugaboo here i come!April 30th, 2011 1 out of 6 people found this review helpful Pros: Easy To Set Up, Comfortable, Easy To Maneuver, Durable, Smooth Ride Cons: Cumbersome, Too Heavy I recently pre ordered the Bugaboo donkey in duo. Although I cannot wait to get the stroller next month, I was a little dissapointed when it really did not come with everything it states for the [$]. You start out with the mono stroller and then you add on what you want, which is a good feature since i am not a fan of bassinets. I ended up getting the basics with 2 seats for the [$]. I did however get to stroll this fantastic stroller in the store with my little one in it in the mono mode, and it was a breeze, and my daughter looked so comfortable in it. They taught me how to use the stroller and even let me try fitting it in the trunk of my mothers car! It was very heavy, and being pregnant I could not lift it, and the fold could be better. All in all, I am excited I bought the stroller and I cannot wait to use it in duo mode when my new baby is born in october. Yes, I would recommend this to a friend. You flagged this review
