Toddlers wait for no one. Grownups can delay gratification, but we nevertheless have been a bit impatient that our sleek, beautiful Bugaboo strollers were lacking a snack tray.
The wait is over, and it was worth it: the Bugaboo Snack Tray is classy enough for your Cameleon and dignified enough for your Donkey. This cool little gizmo clips to the side of your Bugaboo stroller, and pivots 90 degrees so you can get it out of the way in order to insert and remove your child. The Snack Tray includes compartments for snacks, drinks, and toys, and one portion of the tray has a sliding lid to protect its contents (say, if it’s raining).
One more thing that we love about the Bugaboo Snack Tray: the snack portion pops out for cleaning but still leaves a functional cup-holder attached. So you have a few choices for which pieces to bring with you and which pieces to leave home. It’s multifunctional, it’s elegant, it’s convenient: it’s everything you love about Bugaboo. Use with the Bugaboo Cameleon Stroller or the Bugaboo Donkey Stroller.
Flimsy, Hard To Adjust
I have to say, as someone who was eagarly awaiting this highly anticipated and long overdue Bugaboo accessory, I was extrememly disappointed in the product after my first use. As the mother of a VERY active two year old boy, he challenged the stability of this product from the moment I attached it to the stroller. Once my son discovered the tray's different swivel positions (which click into place, but dont lock making it too accessible for a curious tot) he was more interested in taking it apart, pushing it away, and throwing the snack compartment across the room rather than using it for the inteded use of snacking on the go.
He was also leaning on it to the point that I was afraid he would snap it off from where it clicks into the stroller (still curious why they did not make it connect on both sides.. do we really need to swivel the tray out of the way when lifting a small child in and out of the stroller?)
My other issue is it is very small. This makes it difficult for my son to use the tray to balance toys. He loves to color and play with his cars and unfortunately, this tray does not allow the space. Seems to me this product is more of a cupholder.
I will say in true Bugaboo fashion, the product is very sleek in design! I like the deep cupholder and while I can cetainly appreciate the concept, as a mother of three, its functionality is not as practicale as a more traditional stroller tray. Bugaboo has always impressed me with their ability to brilliantly pair design and function...however on this particular accessory, I think they missed the mark. Sorry!
