(The CARES is only for airline travel, so you may still need to take a regular car seat with you if it will be needed for automotive travel. But the car seat can then be checked with the luggage, eliminating the need to maneuver it through the airport.)

We have used this on flights to Florida and Cancun. Installs easily over the seat back and it did not interfere with the passenger seated behind her. Loved that it was restraint device but still allowed her enough movement in her seat so that she did not mind having it on. Many parents on-board were commenting how they wish they had one too.

These are the BEST if you are traveling and don't want to lug heavy carseats onto the plane. I have three kids under the age of four and it would be just about impossible to fly with 3 bulky seats. These come with thier own little carry bags and are a cinch to install. I wish all of my kids would stay buckled for the duration of the flight, but that's more a reflection of my lack of parenting skills than the product itself.
