When you were in college, it was all about finding the best boots and back pack for your hiking trips. Once you had those (and a handful of iodine tablets) you had everything you needed to hit the open trail. Well, a few things have changed since then. Now, you have a little companion to bring along on those nature jaunts and need a carrier that will make the trip comfy and safe for the both of you.
Deuter (pronounced doy-ter) is a well-established German company that has been making excellent backpacks and child carriers since 1898. Since they opened another subsidiary in Colorado, Americans have also come to love the quality and great design of these top of the line baby backpacks. With an obsessive eye for comfort, ventilation, proper fit, and innovation, Deuter has established itself worldwide as a leader in backpack design and other products for outdoor adventuring.
The Deuter Kid Comfort II Child Carrier, compared to the Kid Comfort I, has a new and improved frame design and fabric to make it even more comfortable to carry. It also has added padding and a hydration system that accommodates a Deuter Hydration Bladder (sold separately).
Like the Deuter Kid Comfort I, this baby backpack has all the trusty features that will keep you and your child safe. The Vari-quick Harness System allows the padded, anatomically-shaped adult shoulder straps to be easily attached at different heights to accommodate a whole range of torso lengths.
The Kid Comfort II's Aircomfort System has suspended mesh, keeping the packsack from coming in direct contact with the wearer’s back, reducing sweating by up to 25%. The child's comfy cockpit is well-padded and features a quick release H-shape harness system to keep your child safe and secure. The padded shoulder straps on this child carrier can be attached at three different heights and the seat can be adjusted vertically to accommodate all those growth spurts.

We bought this as our active daughter is no longer happy in the Ergo for long periods now that she is 1 1/2.
We tried the Dueter's and the Kelty packs and felt that this was the most comfortable and best priced option for us.
This pack is well designed, with a water bladder for the parents, and generous storage.
Our daughter LOVES being up high and it's been a big success. She has plenty of room to grow and we expect to use this pack for years to come.
