About the Diono Radian RXT Convertible Car SeatSometimes, all it takes to understand the value of a product is a good visual. So we’d like to direct you to the pictures of a Diono Radian car seat on the car-seat.org forums.* In the pictures, you’ll see Sarah Maglione’s car, crushed under three floors of a parking garage – and her Radian car seat, still intact.
Not only is the Diono Radian RXT Car Seat absolutely indestructible, but it’s also incredibly practical: your child can enjoy the benefits of this rolling fortress from birth all the way up to 120 pounds. It’s also terrifically easy to use, and it’s one of the narrowest car seats on the market, giving you more space in your car. Here’s the run-down on the Radian:
In the end, though, it all comes back to that steel frame, which Diono cites as the number one reason why parents buy Diono Radian RXT car seats. Look for reviews of this seat, and you’ll find endorsements from countless emergency professionals, and they know what they’re talking about. One dad reviewer summarized it nicely: “As an emergency responder, these seats look like they are designed for NASCAR.”
Specifications:
Usage: Rear-facing: 5-45 lbs. with at least 1.5” of car seat above the child’s head or total height of 44” Forward-facing: 20-80 lbs. with a child less than 57” tall Booster seat: 50-120 lbs. with a child less than 57” tall, but child’s shoulders must also be at or above the 4th set of harness slots
* Diono was called Sunshine Kids at the time, but the car seats and the fabulous steel alloy frames remain the same. We should also point out that while 38 cars were destroyed in the parking garage collapse, not a single person was injured.

5.0 beans out of 5.0 beans great! we love it!June 19th, 2012 Pros: Easy to Clean, Safe, Stylish, Comfortable, Easy to install, Sturdy, Easy to Adjust Cons: Heavy Fits perfectly in our truck. Our son is comfortable. We are using it rear-facing now but will switch to front facing in a few months. Sturdy, safe and attractive. I'd buy it again and again. Yes, I would recommend this to a friend. You flagged this review Diono Radian RXT Convertible Car Seat Sudbury Mom Sudbury, MA
5.0 beans out of 5.0 beans Great carseat for every ageJune 15th, 2012 Pros: Narrow, Comfortable, Safe, Sturdy, Stylish Cons: Heavy We have two of these carseats and think they are great. They are narrow and allow for someone to sit in the middle back seat. My daughter is one and faces backwards and is very comfortable; while my 4 year old son feels like a big boy in his (and loves his cup holder). The safety reviews are up there with the Britax. My only complaint is that it is pretty heavy to carry when we have to travel (but it folds up nicely into a bag). If I have a third child I would buy another one! Yes, I would recommend this to a friend. You flagged this review Diono Radian RXT Convertible Car Seat Deb, Mom of 2 Belmont, MA
4.0 beans out of 5.0 beans compact and comfortableJune 10th, 2012 Pros: Sturdy, Safe, Stylish, Easy to Adjust, Comfortable Cons: Heavy This is a wonderful carseat for when your child is over age 2 and can face forward. It is very tall, so would be tough to place in rear facing position. Narrow which is great because you can seat a small person in the middle between our car seats. We may swap out our Britax for another of these when our younger son turns 2. Yes, I would recommend this to a friend. You flagged this review Diono Radian RXT Convertible Car Seat Susan Newton, MA
5.0 beans out of 5.0 beans Great PurchaseJune 10th, 2012 Pros: Easy to Adjust, Great Features Cons: Bulky I bought this as a second carseat for another car. It has the luxury of having places for cups and toys and is easier to adjust from the previous model. Yes, I would recommend this to a friend. 5.0 beans out of 5.0 beans car seat that does it allFebruary 22nd, 2012 Pros: Safe, Easy to install Cons: Bulky As a parent and physician safety was key in choosing a car seat. I spent many hours researching car seats and felt this one was my best choice. We first purchased this seat for my son (now 22 months) and recently bought a second one for the arrival of our second child. It is a little bulky when back facing but very easy to use. Yes, I would recommend this to a friend. You flagged this review
