about the Educo Go Anywhere GrillWhat do you serve at your barbecue? There are probably hot dogs and hamburgers, of course. Are you a hearty, red-meat-loving family? Perhaps there are steaks. Do you like it spicy? Then perhaps there’s chicken laced with a searing barbecue sauce on the grill. Or if everyone is watching their waistline, or there are vegetarians in the party, then there’s fish, and grilled veggies.
The treats served up on the Go Anywhere Grill by Hape/Educo reflect a family that prefers a healthy, balanced diet, with both wooden steaks and wooden veggie shish-kabobs. We love the realistic but stylized look of this toy grill and its accessories, and your kids will too: the kabobs have a variety of toy veggies, the steaks are “rare” on one side and “well done” on the other, and the charcoals have both “hot” and “cool” sides. And the compact toy grill set is made to travel, so the Hape/Educo Go Anywhere Grill is a great set for pretend-play on the go, or in limited space.
The Go Anywhere Grill is made to appeal to both boys and girls, and encourages kids to engage in creative role-play as well as sequence and pattern activities when they construct their kebabs. Plus, pretend-play with healthy play food helps kids learn that healthy food is fun, too! The Hape/Educo Go Anywhere Grill Set includes 33 pieces, with a 3-piece grill, charcoal, food, tongs, and a cloth travel bag. For ages 3 and up. WARNING: CHOKING HAZARD - Small parts. Not for children under 3 years.

My 19 month old son has been having a lot of fun with this product. It is compact, which is nice for our small apartment. The paint and construction seem very high quality. My son's favorite parts are the skewers. He loves to stack veggies on them and then dump them off, and he is quite interested in the different shapes. Be careful though, because the small parts could be a choking hazard (it's rated for ages 3+). At my son's age he still has some trouble using the tongs, which are quite stiff. He also has a tendency to accidentally flip over the grill, which is a little unstable due to the central mounting design. This wouldn't be as much of an issue for an older child. Overall, this is a very cute, fun toy!
