We have four-year-old and three-year-old boys that are very serious when it comes to their car accessories, including car seats! When baby #3 arrived last month we were worried about our vehicles, as well as grandparents vehicles, fitting all three boys. This hybrid seat is not only super cute and easy to install, but it allows us to fit 3 car seats side-by-side in one back seat in three vehicles (BMW 5, Volvo XC90 & Liberty). We gained a full inch and a half off of the former booster seats and three inches off of the convertible car seat.
Most importantly, it allows us to keep the boys in a 5-point harness longer and not rush into the using the car's safety strap with a backless booster. Our guys are quite tall for their age and their convertible car seat was fitting quite tight, but we were not ready to relinquish the safety of a 5-point harness quite yet.
No need for a huge beast of a vehicle...One Con - I wish it came out sooner!!!
So good we bought three... really!
Easy to install (I actually did it myself), it looks great, especially with a cute kind in it (see picture) and it's stylish too.
Now the Dad is seriously thinking of replacing his big Britax with this compact unit. The fact that it can become a booster seat later is a HUGE plus.
