We used the Snugride for 7 months before our baby outgrew it and we switched to a convertible car seat.
Despite the short-ish usage period, the convenience of the infant car seat made it well worth the money. The baby could fall asleep in the car and transfer easily into the house or into the car seat frame (we used the Maclaren Easy Traveller, which we kept in the trunk). Using a Bundle Me in the infant car seat allowed us to avoid the hassle of a winter coat or snowsuit for baby, too.
Regarding the Snugride as opposed to other infant car seats, I loved the little level indicator that reassured me that I had the seat at the proper angle. However, I found the Snugride handle a bit loose/wiggly in the carrying position, even when locked. And the blanket flap thing was pretty useless, since it left the baby's upper body exposed; we just took it off and got a Bundle Me.
If I could go back and do it again, I would get an infant car seat, but I might consider another brand.

This carseat has been one of the best purchases i made for my third child. With the birth of my third child i knew that i needed a new carseat and one that would be comfortable. My first 2 kids hated their infant carseats and made it hard for me to go anywhere. This carseat has been a godsend. My baby loves being in it and will sleep for hours without a peep. It is so soft and comfy that he likes it better then his crib. i love how easy it is to clean. Definetly worth the price.
