A music critic recently noted that the songs "Over the Rainbow" at the beginning of The Wizard of Oz and "Rainbow Connection" at the beginning of The Muppet Movie serve the same function: they set up the main character as a dreamer with ambition, at the beginning of a magical journey. These two classic songs, and classic movies, are loved by many generations of adults and kids, and the rainbow continues to be a classic symbol of magic and longing. Oh, and it's pretty, too.
The Haba Rainbow Rattle is a lovely and intriguing toy for little people who are just starting on the journeys and adventures of life. A series of wooden circles in rainbow colors are linked by a sturdy elastic, which babies can twist and turn. Babies will enjoy exploring the various patterns and reflecting elements on each circle, and the big circles are easy for little hands to grasp. Made of beech wood with natural, non-toxic lacquers; recommended for ages 6 months and up.
Simple, lightweight, kid loves it
I bought this toy impulsively on the way to the baby friendly matinees in Brookline and it entertained my 6 month old through the movie and continues to. She likes to stare at the little mirrors and circles and then chew on it a little with her gums. It's nice and small for my bag and doesn't get yucky with lint like plush or stuffed toys will.
