Have you ever heard of polyominoes? You’ve definitely seen them: a polyomino, according to Wikipedia, is a plane geometric figure formed by joining multiple equally-sized squares together. So, dominoes are polyominoes; a window divided into panes is a polyomino; and the pieces you see in the game Tetris are polyominoes (4-piece tetrominoes, to be exact).

Kubix Geometrix Blocks, from the French toy company Janod, are a playful new take on polyominoes: these unusually-shaped wooden blocks for kids include zigzags, arches, T’s, L’s, and other shapes in a variety of bold and pastel colors. Both kids and adults will have hours of fun playing with Kubix blocks: stack ‘em, sort ‘em, make towers, try to make geometric figures, or use them to form weird-looking people and aliens!
