Since giraffes are uncommon here in the American northeast, it’s easy to have some misconceptions about their lives. For instance, this writer posits that a giraffe would make a good pet because it only eats plants, will keep your backyard trees nicely trimmed, and can help you reach the top shelves in your home. However, the writer leaves out the fact that the typical ceiling is 8 feet tall and the typical giraffe starts at 16 feet tall, which rules them right out as house pets.
The Jellycat Medium Bashful Giraffe is a more reasonably-sized version of the beloved ungulate: his squishy, floppy body has a very giraffe-ly gawkiness, but he’s only one foot tall. His velvety fur feels delicious to snuggle, and his long limbs and light weight make him easy for babies to grab and carry. Plastic pellets in the Bashful Giraffe stuffed animal’s rear end help him to sit up straight, and top-quality materials, excellent construction, and general cuteness make this Jellycat plush toy an excellent baby shower gift! (Which is another role for which a real giraffe would be ill-suited.)
Jellycat instructions say that the Medium Bashful Giraffe should be hand-washed only, but reviewers say that they’ve had good results in machine-washing their Jellycat plush. The Jellycat Medium Bashful Giraffe is made with 100% polyester, and is suitable for children from birth onwards.
