Lego Champion Game

On your mark, get set, build! LEGO Champion is a board game that merges the fun of LEGO building with some good-natured competition in mini-games of manual dexterity and memory – and leaves participants a lot of room to exercise their creativity.

As in the rest of the LEGO Games series, the fun begins with building the LEGO Champions game board, which is a rectangle made of black and green LEGO bricks. Even the die is buildable: it’s a rubber cube with removable LEGO face-plates. Once you’re done building the board, players move their microfigure pieces around the board by moving to the next brick in the color that comes up on the die. Each color is assigned a mini-game. Some examples:

- On Target: This game is a bit like bocce – players attempt to throw a LEGO brick closest to the die.

- Topple the Tower: One player places a LEGO brick; the next player puts two bricks on top of that one; the next person places three, and so on until the tower falls down.

- Speed Builder: One player creates a structure of eight LEGO bricks, out of the view of the other players. Once the structure is revealed, the player who duplicates it first wins.

But the beauty of LEGO Games is, you can customize the game to suit your family’s tastes and needs, and to shake things up a bit. Is the game taking too long? Build the game board shorter. Want to be a bit more creative? Create your own Pictionary-style LEGO building mini-game. The microfigures (who are smaller than standard LEGO mini figures) also introduce a fun element: they include a pink princess, a purple skeleton, a green astronaut, and more.

LEGO Champion is a board game for ages 7 and up, 3-8 players. Includes 216 pieces, eight mini-figures, and a rule book. And the winner gets a trophy: a gold microfigure with a crown.
