Recently updated, the Maclaren Triumph Stroller has an improved circular, pivoting "Next Generation" hinge design that eliminates the risk of pinched fingers during folding and unfolding. This hinge design has been in the works for several years and represents a new approach to folding mechanisms in umbrella strollers. Though the frame is the same as older Maclaren models, there are slight changes in dimensions so older seat fabrics won't fit the new strollers.
Love the simplicity of the Maclaren Volo? We do too, but admit that sometimes you want just a few more features. Like the Volo, the aluminum-framed Maclaren Triumph is a great choice for older kids who don’t need all the bells and whistles of a bigger stroller, but it offers a few great extras.
In contrast to the mesh seat on the Volo, the Maclaren Triumph has a nicely padded seat and offers varying seat recline positions for your child’s comfort. The Triumph accommodates kids as young as 3 months, and up to 55 pounds. This makes the Maclaren Triumph a great lightweight option for everyday use and traveling. The stroller has double swivel wheels in front that make the Triumph very versatile. If you are going for a nice walk, you can lock them in place. Heading to a busy market? Simply unlock the wheels so that they can swivel easily.
Like all of the Maclaren stroller models, the Triumph Next Generation has a 5-point harness that offers supreme safety. It also comes with a rain cover which is essential for cloudy, drizzly days. Because you need all the hands you can get, there is a handy shoulder strap that allows you to carry the Triumph hands-free when folded. Welcome to the world of options.
Comfortable, Sturdy, Easily Stowed, Lightweight, Easy To Steer, Durable, Easy To Setup
We got this stroller when our daughter turned 1 - we had a Peg Perago stroller system and it was just getting too bulky, took up too much room in the trunk and was impossible for us to travel with easily. We fly a lot so we wanted a durable lightweight stroller and we tried probably 20 and decided on the Maclaren Triumph. It is so light (12 lbs), maneuvers easily, folds up very easily (I can do it myself while holding my now 30-lb daughter and two bags), takes up very little room in my truck and is even easy to carry folded up with the attached shoulder strap. I also love that it locks automatically when you fold it. The durability is impressive - I have used it almost every day for a year and it looks brand new, and the tires - which at first glance I wasn't sure would hold up - have held up very, very well, even after many long walks. An added bonus is how sharp it looks - people are always asking me what kind of stroller it is (we have the red one). I use this stroller just about every day now.
The only negatives I can think of are: I wish it reclined a bit more, though my daughter does sleep while in it; and the next basket underneath holds very little and it difficult to get to.
I wouldn't use this stroller with an infant, but for a pre-toddler and toddler, this is the perfect stroller.
Even fun to push!
