There are changes afoot! The nursery has a new coat of paint. Your toddler was upset about moving to a new room at first, but was mollified by his promotion from a crib to a "big kid" bed. And you're dreading trading in your beloved Mountain Buggy Urban Jungle for a clunky double stroller.
There's no need to fret, Mom – the new Mountain Buggy Plus One double stroller tweaks the Urban Jungle's frame just a little to fit a second child, and accommodates two toddlers or a toddler and an infant. The kids are comfy, you can get through doorways (it's only 25" wide), and the steering feels so nice you'll swear it's a single stroller. The trick is a zip-out extension in the rear of the stroller, which fits either a "cocoon" bassinet for a newborn (included) or a toddler seat (also included). You can, of course, use the Plus One as a single as well. In any configuration, adding one more to the family doesn't mean that you have to give up easy and stylish city strolling.
In the newborn configuration, the baby rides facing you in the cocoon bassinet. The rear flap opens up so that you can see in and attend to the baby, and the flick-out mesh extensions to the sun canopy ensure that both kids get good coverage. A carefully-designed "stopper bar" keeps the toddler in front from leaning too far back, so everyone's safe and comfortable.
In the two-toddler configuration, the second child rides in a slightly elevated rear seat, making this a great tandem choice (both kids get a good view!). A fabric drop-down space gives the child in the back somewhere to put her feet without taking up space in the under-seat basket.
The Mountain Buggy Plus One's frame is a slightly lengthened version of the Mountain Buggy Urban Jungle, altered a bit for stability. It has the same light but sturdy wedge-shaped aluminum frame, designed for an easy steer. The 12" air-filled tires skim happily over bumps and cracks and make it easy to navigate curbs, and the two-mode front wheel can swivel for quick turns or lock for full-speed-ahead! The five-point harnesses adjust small enough for a newborn, and feature easy twist-and-slide seat harness adjustment.
The Plus One double stroller has an easy two-step fold, leaving both seats on; you can remove the quick-release wheels for a smaller fold. The handle is height-adjustable, and the fabric is water resistant.
In short: everything will change soon, but with the Mountain Buggy Plus One double stroller, your urban strolling experience will stay the way you like it.
