Nuna Nuna Sena Travel Crib

About the Nuna Sena Travel Crib

We’ve noticed a curious phenomenon when people talk about their Nuna Sena Travel Crib: instead of referring to it as the Sena, they refer to it as “the Nuna” or “my Nuna” or “our Nuna.” We think it might be an association with the name: “Nuna” makes us think of cozy people like nanas and nannies, people who aren’t Mom, but are a sort of personal home away from home.

Which is, of course, what the Nuna Sena portable crib is for: it’s the perfect crib-away-from-crib for babies and toddlers, providing a comfortable, cushy, safe and enclosed napping spot anywhere in your home and abroad, whether baby is staying at Grandma’s house or the family is holed up in a hotel. The new 2015 version of the Nuna Sena upgrades the fabric with sheer see-through mesh all around, so your child can see you and you can see him from anywhere in the room, and air circulation is even better!

Key features that make the Nuna Sena Travel Crib terrific for your growing family include:

  • Luxurious comfort: The plushy, quilted mattress makes the Nuna Sena into a cozy little nest for sleeping kids, with Oeko-Tex certified fabrics and mesh all around to keep air circulating through. The crib mattress is elevated a bit so kids don’t feel the cold floor or drafts.

  • So easy to use: The clever zigzag-leg design of the Nuna Sena travel crib makes it super-easy to open and close – to open it, you just pull the sides out and push down on the bottom; to close, you just pull up a tab in the middle. The whole process is simple and painless – no fiddling with stubborn travel crib legs! It also comes with a handy travel bag, which has a little room for additional bedding (if you’re going to be away for a week with a baby, you definitely want some extra crib sheets on hand).

  • Grows with your child: The Nuna Sena Travel Crib features two mattress heights, so you can use it as a bassinet for newborns and a pack-and-play style travel crib and play yard for older babies. The bassinet feature makes the Nuna Sena a great first crib for your newborn, since you can just set the Sena next to your bed so your baby is at arm’s length for nighttime nursing.

  • Safe and stable: Skid-proof feet keep the Nuna Sena Travel Crib from sliding around, and padded corners ensure that little fingers won’t get pinched.

The Nuna Sena travel crib is a top pick for grandparents who want to have a bed in their home for visiting grandbabies, since it’s so easy to open and close, and can be stowed away when it’s not in use. It also has a simple modern look that fits nicely into any home – it’s not frou-frou or babyish, just sleek and sporty.

The 2015 Nuna Sena Travel Crib measures 30.7” x 41.3” x 29.5” when unfolded, and is suitable for use with babies from birth through about three years of age.

Well made and easy to use

Pros:

Premium materials, sturdy, stylish

Cons:

Difficult to set up on carpet

We bought this as a crib alternative/play yard and we have not traveled with it. However, it was easy to unpack and wasn't too heavy in it's carrying case. We had to put it on the kitchen floor to set it up because the carpet prohibits the legs from sliding into place. It's sturdy and really well made. We bought it for the non-toxic materials and for it's style and ease of use. So far, we love it and our little one does too!

Exceptional Travel Crib

Pros:

Easy to use, small but stable, light weight

This is a fantastic travel crib! It is one of two that our family purchased. The first (Joovy room 2) was too large for our city space however we held onto it for when we visit family as it is a great enclosed play space. The Nuna Sena is the perfect size for smaller city spaces and the adjustable height really saves the back. It is truly a one pull folding system while the Joovy claims to be but is much more difficult to use. All grandparents purchased this travel crib as well love it!
