about the Authentic Teepee

Teepees were traditionally used by the Native Americans of the Great Plains, but similar conical tents are used by cultures all over the world. For instance, the “chum” used by Siberian reindeer herders resembles a very large teepee, and the “lavvu” used by the Sami of northern Scandinavia is basically a teepee with better windproofing. What all of these groups had in common was a nomadic lifestyle in rough weather conditions – their shelters needed to be portable, warm, and tough.

So the Authentic TeePee from Pacific Play Tents isn’t fancy: it’s simple, practical, and strong, and leaves plenty of room for your child’s imagination to fill in the blanks. Set the teepee up in your backyard or playroom and watch your child construct all sorts of fantasy scenarios – and if you want to add in some lessons about the tribes of the Great Plains, all the better!

When assembled, the Pacific Play Tents Authentic TeePee is about 5 feet tall; the bottom area is about 48” x 48”. The teepee entry flaps tie back, and a mesh window provides ventilation. And of course, it’s easy to set up and take down – it is a teepee, after all. That’s what they’re for! Made with 100% cotton canvas.
