Italian cuisine is known for recipes with limited ingredients, with emphasis placed on using the very best veggies, cheese, meat, and pasta. Top-notch Italian baby gear also relies on high-quality materials for excellence: Peg Perego products use the best materials to keep your child safe and comfortable.
The Peg Perego Primo Viaggio SIP 5/70 Convertible Car Seat extends the age range on their popular Primo Viaggio infant car seat, taking the same superb materials and construction into the toddler years and beyond. Plus, this baby seat can be used rear-facing until your child weighs 45 pounds, and rear-facing is safest!
Here’s some of the Peg Perego Primo Viaggio recipe for success:
Mix all of these excellent elements together, and you have a simple recipe for child safety and child comfort. The Peg Perego Primo Viaggio SIP 5/70 Convertible Car Seat is exactly to our taste.

Comfortable, super easy to use, high quality....
Being a research-a-holic, I spent hours on the computer researching different convertible car seats. I dont often feel compelled to write reviews but this time is different.
I had settled on the Britax Marathon for its high number of positive ratings. After installing the seat I realized it was quite cumbersome and not the easiest to use(The strap release tunnel/hole is terrible!). After going to Magic Beans and taking all the seats out to my vehicles to try them out, I chose the Peg Perego. What I did not know at the time is how impressed I would end up being. Not only are the materials very nice, but getting my son in and out of the seat is so simple. The straps and mechanics of the seat are no comparison to the Britax. I cannot recommend this seat enough, it is easy to use, safe, doesnt take up a ton of space, and is well made. IMO, its worth every penny! If possible, do what I did and try the actual seats in your vehicle, you might be surprised what you decide!
Streamlined and a bit easier to get toddler in
We liked this car seat so much that after I had it in my car for six months we bought a second one and replaced the Chicco Next Fit seat that we had in my husband's car with the Peg Perego. Our son (still rear facing) can see out the sides much better in this seat and I find the buckles and straps easier to work than the Chicco (though we loved our Chicco bucket seat). The size and relatively narrow profile work well in my Honda Civic.
appearance (while it lasts)
Not a durable material, Poor fit
I bought this car seat because it would look great in husband's car and also appeared durable (as well as good safety ratings). 6 months later I am disappointed. The seams are coming apart and they only give a 90 day warranty on the material.
It also does not fit my baby as well as the Britax car seat - the shoulder straps are constantly slipping off her shoulders and the cushions on the neck strap are too large ( they push the staps off her shoulders).
Wish I bought the Britax again -
Safe, Easy to Adjust, Lightweight, Sturdy, Easy to install, Stylish, Comfortable
Love how beautiful this car seat looks, feels, and fits! Got it in licorice in no snap even though the stoe i purchased from did not have in stock - another mb store sent it over next day. it was a more than what i wanted to spend but i figure over time it's worth it. my daughter fell fast asleep the first time she rode in it. she is 1 year @ 18 lbs 30.25". love love love. its super easy to install with latch, like most infant base seats, but this latch system is much more smooth. its the little details you pay for such as the strap grabbers. they grap the shoulder and leg strap(s) and buckles away from the seat so your baby will NOT sit on the crotch buckles getting into the seat. this happens all the time with the infant seats. love this convenience. fits in my small suv just like the infant car seat and base but actually may have gained a smidge. it looks very slick and sexy (for a car seat), my husband wants one! I was sure to buy an uppa baby car suction window shade now that there is no canopy. ;)
