about the Penguin Hat

We mostly associate penguins with cold temperatures, but they can actually be found throughout the southern hemisphere, and the Galapagos penguin lives right on the Equator. Because the water temperature is cold but the land temperature is warm, these cute little guys have a very different lifestyle from their Antarctic relatives: instead of concentrating on staying warm enough, they are adapted to the task of keeping cool.

In temperate climates, humans adapt to temperature variations by putting on and taking off layers of clothing. So when the season shifts and it’s time to adapt to cold weather, the 32 Degrees Penguin Hat is an effective (and adorable!) way to keep little ears warm. Not only are Penguin Hats made with the best insulating fleece, but they also have an adjustable clip so they’ll fit fast-growing kids for more than one season, and a hook & loop chin strap to ensure that fidgety kids won’t lose their hat.

These darling penguin-shaped winter hats were the creation of Massachusetts inventor Christine Haley, who began crafting cute fleece penguin caps for her own kids, and got so many compliments for her creativity that she started selling hats at arts and crafts shows. Today, 32 Degrees Penguin Hats are still handcrafted, so each penguin hat is just a little unique, and made with love! Available in baby and kid sizes; get matching 32 Degrees Penguin Mittens for a complete look.
