About the Skip Hop Playspot PlaymatDo you remember those soft alphabet mats from preschool? Well, the Skip Hop Playspot is a mat that has graduated college – with honors in design. The Playspot turns any floor into a big, soft surface perfect for all ages, from roly-poly babies on up. You’ll love Skip Hop’s three designer styles. They look like they popped off the walls of the Whitney Museum of Modern Art. It will even look great in your dining room, that sacred “adult” room you have wanted to keep nice enough for company.
What’s even better is that you can mix and match your Playspot. The 14″ square tiles link together via x-shaped connector pieces. Inside each tile is a contrasting cut-out circle that can pop out to mix and match the look.
The Playspot is made with high-quality EVA foam so you know that the tiles won’t rip apart in curious mouths or with heavy use. Your child can keep playing on it for years, whether he is crawling around or redesigning the playroom.

4.0 beans out of 5.0 beans Perfect for a whileNovember 4th, 2010 Pros: Easy to Clean, Easy to Assemble I bought these so our infant daughter would have a larger space to practice rolling and then crawling on our hardwood floors. They did a great job for that purpose. There was just enough cushioning that tumbles didn't hurt! They also look great, and you can put them together in different color configurations to change up the look. I also really like that they are approved for ages 0+ (alot of the floor mats we looked at weren't). The only problem we had with them is that once she figured out that they pulled up and came apart, that's all she wanted to do. Since the connectors are on only on the corners, they seem to be easier to pull apart than the ones where the whole side connects. Yes, I would recommend this to a friend. 5.0 beans out of 5.0 beans Perfect Rug AlternativeSeptember 14th, 2010 Pros: Easy to Assemble, Grows With Baby, Visually Stimulating, Easy to Clean We bought the playspot in blue for my son's room instead of a rug. It's attractive looking and goes with the blue and brown color scheme we were already using. When he was an infant it was great for tummy time -- soft and drool and spit up cleaned up with no problem. When he was a bit older it was soft on his knees and hands while he was learning to crawl. Then as an early walker I didn't have to worry when he would take the occasional tumble. Now that he's a toddler we all sit comfortably on the floor together. He pushes cars around on it (and I don't have to worry about them scratching the hardwood floors), brings a book over so we can sit on the floor and read, and still occasionally has a safe fall on the floor when he tries to run faster than his feet can carry him. And when he's working on an art project and spills something on the mat, it cleans up without a problem. My husband said the other day he wants to buy the same thing for our next child because this mat makes it comfortable for him to sit on the floor and play with our son. Now we spend our evenings sitting on our son's floor as a family. Yes, I would recommend this to a friend. You flagged this review
