Over the past few years, baby powder has fallen from grace. Formerly hailed as a cure-all for a vareity of baby skin irritations, concerns surfaced about the safety of inhaling talc, now considered to be a carcinogen in the same cateogry as asbestos. As this scary news spread, anxious parents simply abandoned powder altogether, regardless of whether or not it contained talc.
Now, a new company is trying to bring powder back to parents. Pure Me just introduced the Pressed Puff, a plastic compact packed with an all-natural, hypoallergenic, talc-free baby powder. It looks like a makeup compact, but with a separate compartment for the puff (each compact comes with a spare puff, and they are machine washable). The soothing formula uses avocado oil, Jojoba oil and Vitamin E to simultaniously dry and moisturize the skin. The powder has a luxurious satin feel, and is practically odorless. It’s not inexpensive, but that’s because the high-quality formula is costly to produce. With daily use, the compact should last about 3 months, and with occasional use, it will obviously last quite a bit longer.
This is the first product to launch from Pure Me, but I was impressed with everything I saw. I’ll be keeping an eye on these guys. We should have the Pressed Puff available in our store within the next week or two.

I just want to thank you for the wonderful blog. You really made our convention. I just hope that everyone who tries it will make it a staple in their diaper bag. By the way, I think Taylor should be the next to go…
