GT stands for Good Thinking?
Categories: Baby, JPMA 2007, Strollers, Travels & Trade Shows

Everyone has been waiting and wondering what’s happening with Phil and Ted’s. At the ABC show in September, they showed a very early concept of a new version of their popular e3 stroller. Last month, they debuted the Sport, an updated version of the e3 that offered some nice improvements, but not a substantial change… read more!

Home again
Categories: JPMA 2007, Travels & Trade Shows

I’m back in Boston. The last day of the show was quiet, but I had a chance to get some really good information about a bunch of new products, including the new Phil and Ted’s stroller, new Recaro car seats, a hammock for babies, and a really neat new invention to make kids eating ice… read more!

Strollers for all seasons
Categories: Baby, JPMA 2007, Strollers, Travels & Trade Shows

At this JPMA show, Maclaren has a few surprises up their sleeve. They’re introducing a line of skincare products, they’ve developed two new stroller models inspired by the seasons of the year, AND people are running around their booth dressed in kilts. It’s all a bit unusual, but that is a good thing for this… read more!

Recognize that silhouette?
Categories: Baby, JPMA 2007, Newborn Essentials, Nursing & Feeding, Travels & Trade Shows

I breastfed both of my girls exclusively, and neither of them would ever take a bottle. It wasn’t for lack of trying, though. I always wondered if I might have had better luck with something that was shaped more convincingly like the original source. I had seen the Breastbottle Nurser in catalogs, but I was… read more!

Day 2 – Curse of the Mommy?
Categories: JPMA 2007, Travels & Trade Shows

I’m finding this show to be small but spirited. There are lots of interesting products and people, and the manageable size makes it easy to stop and get into conversations without feeling rushed. Unfortunately, it was a bad day for my cellphone. First, I left it in the JJ Cole booth after I decided to… read more!

Every year, the JPMA show holds a competition for Innovation Awards. These prestigious prizes are given to products in ten categories. This year, the car seat award went to the new Olli booster seat from Clek. This backless booster offers a rigid latch attachment system that anchors the seat into the car as an added… read more!

Britax introduces Diplomat seat
Categories: Baby, Car Seats, JPMA 2007, Travels & Trade Shows

Today Britax introduced a new car seat, the Diplomat, a smaller version of the Boulevard. Just as the Boulevard has similar proportions to the Marathon, but includes side impact prodection, the Diplomat is similar in size to the Roundabout, and includes a scaled-down version of the side-impact protection cushion. My question is, would you buy… read more!

Have wheels, will travel
Categories: Active Toys, JPMA 2007, Preschool Toys, Toys, Travels & Trade Shows

Get this: the Trunki is a hard suitcase on wheels that doubles as a ride-on toy. And if that weren’t cool enough, there’s a strap you can use to tow weary tots through the airport. It’s brilliant, plain and simple. And when they come in to our store, I will be the very first on… read more!

To bee or not to bee?
Categories: Baby, JPMA 2007, Strollers, Travels & Trade Shows

This is the question that Bugaboo enthusiasts will be asking themselves soon. Today, Bugaboo unveiled their most compact Bugaboo stroller, the Bee. Like the other Bugaboo models, the Bee has a nice suspension system, and the seat can turn to face towards or away from the pusher. Unlike its siblings, the Bee is not a… read more!

JPMA Round-up, Day 1
Categories: JPMA 2007, Travels & Trade Shows

Trade shows are always exhausting, no matter how big or small they are. So although my eyelids are closing against my will, I’ll give a quick recap of the first day. This is actually the very last show JPMA will do, as they are essentially merging with the more popular ABC Children’s Expo which takes… read more!
