Categories: Giveaways

bob-trailers-2011-revolution-se-plum-ST1024-f

Strollers, like people, have characters to them. The name BOB is an abbreviation for “Beast Of Burden,” and while there are now many variations on the original BOB stroller, they all are designed to be reliable helpers and friends to the family. Today’s giveaway, the BOB Revolution SE 2011, is a big favorite because of… read more!

Categories: Giveaways

Flexibility. As parents, we just can’t get enough of it. Our kids? Not particularly flexible — at least, not when we need them to be. Our schedule, our bosses, our childcare, our spouses, our neighbors — well, some of us are luckier than others. Anytime we can find a little flexibility here and there, there’s… read more!

Day 9: Quinny Zapp Xtra & Travel Bag
Categories: Giveaways

There’s something about the letter “z” that makes a word dynamic and quirky. Like “Zapp,” a thoroughly appropriate name for the Quinny stroller we’re giving away today. This 19-pound stroller is made to zoom and zigzag around the city with a minimum of fuss: reviewers praise its ability to negotiate small spaces, and it’s amazingly… read more!

Day 6: UPPAbaby Vista Stroller
Categories: Giveaways

To introduce today’s giveaway, we thought we’d go back to last year and revisit the Berndt family. Why? Well, they won the UPPAbaby Vista stroller during the 2010 31 Days of Giveaways.   Winning this prize couldn’t have come at a better time for Luke and Carolyn Berndt, who were pushing their 6-month-old baby a… read more!

Categories: Giveaways

Assembling the 31 Days of Giveaways has always been a fun process. But my favorite ritual each year is organizing the schedule. The big whiteboard in my office is converted into a giant calendar of  July, and we sit around for a few hours trying to get all of the amazing prizes assigned to a… read more!

Drool Sponsor Spotlight: Maclaren is the granddaddy of stroller companies
Categories: Baby, Strollers

Life can go in wonderful and unexpected directions if you let your creativity lead the way. Owen Maclaren, former test pilot and a gifted aeronautical designer, made a fateful decision when his daughter visited him from the US in the early 1960s: the oversized and clunky prams of the era just weren’t good enough for… read more!

Orbit in living color
Categories: Baby, Strollers

When I walked by the Orbit booth at the recent ABC Spring Conference in Ft. Worth, I didn’t even recognize it. Why? The colors threw me, I’ll admit. Orbit Baby has always had a very conservative palette — until now. The new Color Packs will be an optional accessory for the Orbit Stroller G2. They’ll… read more!

MBTA in Boston considering ban on (unfolded) strollers
Categories: Local: Boston

Update: It’s no surprise that the moms and dads of Boston would go up in arms over this. The MBTA is now saying they’ll try some other tactics for dealing with this issue. The Boston Globe reported yesterday that the information that came out around this was “vague”, “open-ended” and “imprecise” and the MBTA was… read more!

Bugaboo Bee looks good in denim
Categories: Baby, Strollers

I’ve noticed something recently. Whenever I meet other parents who, like me, own a Bugaboo Bee, before any words are exchanged, there’s always the same knowing look, a glance that says, “Yes, this stroller is amazing – why don’t more people know about it?” It’s easy to miss the Bee. In general, mid-size strollers are… read more!

Stokke PramPack: a safer voyage for strollers
Categories: Baby, Strollers

The first time we flew with a stroller, it came off the plane broken. I was in LA for a wedding, and I remember frantically canvassing the shops in Beverly Hills to find a replacement — and this was before babies were a must-have celebrity accessory. The first time I flew with a double stroller,… read more!
