About the Stokke MyCarrierIn spite of its northern climate, Oslo, Norway is very much an outdoor city: the Gulf Stream keeps the temperatures from getting too extreme, and the city is full of glorious public parks, connected by walking paths. And because of the high latitude, the amount of daylight in Oslo varies wildly between the seasons, so in midsummer, when the weather is warmest, Norwegians can expect 18 hours straight of daylight, and full darkness never happens at all. On summer days that long, who could possibly stay inside.
Stokke, Norway’s premier baby gear company, designs their products to reflect their outdoorsy customers, so the Stokke MyCarrier baby carrier boasts versatile use and sporty style for active families, inspired by mountaineering gear. The MyCarrier is a cleverly designed three-in-one model, with two baby carrier harnesses that attach to a single parent harness. Here’s the rundown:
Double-locking carabiners secure the child harnesses safely to the parent harness, and all of the fabrics on the Stokke MyCarrier baby carrier are soft, breathable organic cotton with no toxins. The MyCarrier system ensures safety and comfort for active families and active kids, ensuring a good attitude at any latitude. Specifications

5.0 beans out of 5.0 beans worth every pennyJune 14th, 2012 3 out of 3 people found this review helpful Pros: Multi-functionversatile, Strong Construction, Stylish, Comfortable Cons: Difficult To Set Up Before breaking down and getting this carrier, we had tried the Moby Wrap, the ergo carrier (with and without infant insert) and even the Baby Bjorn.
Our baby was not the easiest the first 6 months - she needed to be carried upright for most of the time and this was the carrier she could tolerate the most and longest. I wished this was available when we started, as buying all those other carriers combined was pretty much the same price as the Stokke.
This is by far the easiest on your back, and you start feeling the difference as they get heavier. Plus, if like me you are hesitant to put your baby in an outward facing direction for too long, you have the option not to and still use the same carrier. I found the baby hip support on the Stokke, much better than other front carry options available. For the baby the plus is they have a wider unobstructed view - this might not seem like much, but believe me for us, this made the difference on how long she would stay in there. This carrier works really well, as you can customize it to your own body type. Of course this comes at the price of extra hooks and snaps. But once you get the hang of which settings work for you - it is not as bad. Just make sure you get some help the first couple of times. As a first time mother, this has improved my quality of life by a factor of 10. Still have all my hands free and I can get into public transportation, pass through tight aisles and maneuver in crowded streets much better and faster than with a stroller. Don't get me wrong, I don't think this is a stroller replacement, but this will work, when the stroller is just too bulky and slow :) This is one of the best purchases for our baby! Worth every cent! Yes, I would recommend this to a friend. You flagged this review
