Crawling is part perspiration and part inspiration. Though your baby can take care of the sweating part on her own, Tiny Love has a special toy that will join you in cheering her along the way. Follow Me Fred is a motorized self-rolling puppy that engages beginning crawlers. It features a multi-directional, accordion-shaped body that can move straight ahead or twist in a circular movement.
If this isn’t enough to fascinate your child, this adorable pet-on-wheels also has colorful buttons that play music and cheerful doggie sounds as he strolls. Worried that your baby will get left behind by her new buddy? No worries. There are two speed settings that allow you to adjust Follow-Me Fred to your baby’s pace. Also, if your baby forgets about her new buddy, Fred will bark after a minute like a real dog to get her back in the game.
Not only will your little crawler enjoy playing follow the leader, but she will develop several essential skills when playing with Follow Me Fred. She will work on those gross motor skills as she follows Fred around your house. By watching this lively puppy make different sounds and movements, your child will enhance her cognitive development as she learns to experiment and anticipate causal relationships. And unlike many toys, Follow Me Fred has a nice emotional aspect. Because this rolling canine barks when left alone for too long, babies learn to anticipate his needs and keep pace. This fosters an emotional intelligence from a young age.
There is also a Follow Me Fiona, another version of Follow Me Fred that has engaging pink and purple colors.
Tiny Love recommends these great activities:
Ages 6-8 months: Before your baby begins to crawl, place Follow-Me Fred in its circular mode, alternating between clockwise and counterclockwise. Also, try placing the toy in front of your baby on the floor and touch it to trigger its movement forward. The cheerful music and slow movement will attract baby's attention and encourage her to reach forward and eventually to start crawling.
Ages 8 months and up: Show baby how to make Fred move by tapping it. Also, occasionally, position Fred so it will move toward baby.

I gave this as a Christmas gift to my nephew and he loves it. Great gift
Cute, Makes nice noises, easy to operate
Doesn't move far
My daughter is terrified of this toy. I have tried to "introduce" her to it multiple times and she screams and crawls up my legs. I got her the toy for Christmas, and now, in February she is 11 months old, she still doesn't like it. The toy is adorable and makes great noises, but she is not into it. I am going to bring it to her cousin who is the same age. Hopefully he will get some enjoyment out of it.
Portable, Lots of Fun, Durable, Easy to Construct, Great Features, Entertaining
Follow me Fred is so cute, my son loved it has a toddler (2yrs) more then the age reccommended on package. He would follow the dog around the house and it was easy enough to take along
