When blogger 8BitDad saw the Ubabub Pod Crib, the jolly prankster’s first instinct was to use it for humorous purposes. Maintaining that the Ubabub Pod looks “straight out of 2099,” he suggested, “you’ve got until your child goes to school to get them to believe that they live in the future.”
Since we still haven’t got flying cars or robot nannies (and babies don’t know what “the future” means, anyway), we’re just going to recommend the futuristic Ubabub Pod Crib as a unique and restful place for your new baby to sleep. The ends of the crib are smoothly rounded wooden panels that are beautifully finished to show the horizontal lines of the wood grain, and in the center of each side is a clear acrylic panel with star-shaped cutouts for ventilation. It’s easy to see into the Ubabub Pod Crib, it’s easy to see out, and it’s really very nice to look at, period.
The Ubabub Pod Crib requires a custom-fit mattress, which, fortunately, is included. Two crib mattress positions allow you to adjust the height as baby grows, with a higher position for newborns and a lower position for more mobile older babies. And when your baby is able to climb out, the Ubabub Pod crib can still grow with her - it converts into a very ultra-modern-looking toddler bed, too!
Finally, the baby crib of the future wouldn’t be complete without eco-friendly and baby-healthy credentials: it’s made with renewable plywood, non-toxic finishes, and recyclable plastic and metal components. The mattress is hypoallergenic, anti-bacterial, anti-dust mite, anti-mold, and anti-mildew.
The Ubabub Pod Crib measures 55.5” x 27.5” x 39.7”, and weighs 185 pounds.
