internationally    We are always excited to learn about hit baby toys from other countries. It’s a small world after all. This is how we met Sophie the Giraffe, arguably the most adored face in nurseries all over France as well as the rest of the globe.
Since 1961, this cute teether has been proudly handmade in the French Alps out of all natural rubber and is beautifully painted with non-toxic paint. Babies fall head over heels for the design which is soft, light, and super easy to grasp. In moments, curious tots start chewing on her knobby head to soothe sore and teething gums. She even makes a cute “squeak” sound when squeezed; a nice feature that brings big smiles to little faces.
You can expect Sophie to become your baby’s new sidekick, so you might consider getting two of these giraffes. After Sophie is used as a teething toy, she will likely stick around as a favorite figurine and it’s good to have a backup around. When little Sophie gets drooled on (or dunked in macaroni and cheese), simply wipe clean with a warm, damp cloth.

My child has loved Sophie since he was about three months old. It's a great, durable toy that is easy to grasp and great for babies to chew on. It's not too hard, so it won't hurt their gums and also makes a delightful squeak when you squeeze it. It's a good size for babies to grasp. Also, it cleans easily and can stand up on a table.

My 3 month old is showing all of the signs of teething! I gave him Sophie to chew on and he is in love! He smiles when he sees this toy and is content to chew for long periods. Great toy, a must have!

We started off with one Sophie for our twin boys to share and very soon thereafter had to purchase a second one cause they were always fighting over it. Easily the best teething toy we purchased, I just wish we had purchased it sooner.

I didn't understand all of the hoopla about Sophie- until I got her. My son LOVED her, for a time it was the only teether/toy he played with. He loved to chomp chomp chomp on her friendly face. I am convinced that the food grade paint texture and easy grip has somethiing to do with their attraction. I am about to have twins and think I need another as the boys may fight over just one in the house!

Baby loves to teeth on this. Easy for him to grip and very cute, safe and easy to wash. We put ours in the refrigerator too, which helps soothe his sore gums/teeth

Sophie was recommended to me by many other new moms....I had to see her in action with my baby in order to believe how amazing she is! Our 7 month old absolutely lights up when Sophie is near. Sophie is a terrific teething toy, Hannah seems to love Sophie more than any other teether in the house. Sophie travels with us and her legs, neck and arms are definitely kept clean by all of the drool that covers her daily...and she squeaks![@]

Both of my daughters loved Sophie from the start! Her sweet and simple design appealed to them right away--they both could grip her easily when learning how to grab and never grew tired of her throughout their first years. Sophie was always in the mouth or hands of my first child and is constantly by my second daughter's side...I keep one in the diaper bag for on the go and another at home so Sophie is always a ready toy for playtime!

We got this when my daughter was born (since I love giraffes) and even now that she's 2, she STILL loves it. She has used it extensively when teething and the thing has held up - even now! It's easy to wash and doesn't have small crevices for dirt to get into.
The one thing is, lots of people have this toy, so be sure to label yours or else you might lose it!
