About the Bugaboo Cameleon 3 Stroller 2016

For presto-change-o adaptability on the go, there’s never been a city stroller quite like the Bugaboo Cameleon 3, which harnesses the power of threes to create a better strolling experience for your family. The Cameleon brings all of its benefits in threes, with 3-in-1 seating (stroller seat, bassinet, or car seat) and seamless switching for three different terrains (city sidewalks, rough trails, or sand and snow).

After the redesign that created this terrific triple threat, there wasn’t a lot to improve on the 2015 Bugaboo Cameleon 3 Stroller, but this is Bugaboo we’re talking about here – this luxury stroller brand never settles for “good enough.” So this year’s Cameleon is just a little bit better:

  • Improved harness: the new Comfort Harness that debuted on the Bugaboo Bee 3 stroller is now featured on the Cameleon stroller as well. It allows you to adjust the five straps independently for length, so you can create a custom fit as your child grows. Each strap is easier to reach, find, and snap together, with no closed loops. And when it’s time to take your child out of the stroller, you can open the harness with a single click, by pressing a button that is now marked with the traditional Bugaboo white, which indicates an interactive part of the stroller.
  • New seat frame and fabric: This is a fine demonstration of just how far Bugaboo will go to make their strollers look even sleeker – they redesigned the fabric to remove a metal pin that used to be needed to hold the rain cover in place. Attention to detail counts!

As with last year’s Cameleon, the 2015 Bugaboo Cameleon 3 provides some extra shelter for your child with an extendable sunshade – and some extra shelter for your wallet with an industry-leading 3-year warranty.

Otherwise, the 2015 Cameleon is the same reliable and gorgeous treat for every member of the family. It goes anywhere with unruffled ease, with swiveling 6” front wheels that maneuver beautifully around any obstacle and adjustable suspension to pamper you and your tot with a smooth ride and a smooth push. When the going gets rough, just reverse the handlebar to put the larger 12” rear wheels in front and plow on through, and when it gets rougher (the aforementioned sand and snow), you can switch to the “chariot” two-wheel position. Modular seating and accessories let you adapt your Cameleon with ease as your baby grows, and adapters are available for virtually any popular infant car seat.

More features:

  • The included bassinet provides an enclosed and private napping spot for baby, with a ventilated Aerosleep mattress and superior allergen-resistant fabrics; use the bassinet on or off the stroller, or stick it on the Bugaboo Stand for overnight sleep.
  • The Bugaboo Cameleon 3 stroller seat is reversible, and has three recline positions in either direction, for sleep, sightseeing, chatting, or playtime.
  • Plus, the Cameleon features a 6-position height-adjustable handlebar, a handbrake, and more!

Stylish but not very practical

stylish, great fabric choices

inconvenient fold, difficult to travel with, limited recline,

I agonized over the decision on whether to buy this or the UPPAbaby Vista. If I could go back, I would actually get the UPPAbaby Cruz (which I ended up getting as a travel/second stroller). Here's why.

There's no question that the Cameleon is the most stylish stroller out there, as well as the most iconic (and the original--the UPPAbaby just copied it). The fabric choices are awesome--compared to UPPAbaby's limited choices, and it has a higher end feel to it.

But of course, you pay for that...and the lack of convenient features is really what made me wish for the UPPAbaby (especially the Cruz, which is more equivalent in size to the Cameleon--the Vista is too big and clunky imo).

The annoying features:

- 2 piece fold

- no standing fold

- only 3 recline positions, and only 1 really usable one (the middle)

- need 2 hands to recline seat or to adjust handlebars

- no peekaboo window unless you get the Sun Canopy (which is awesome by the way)

- no cover on the bumper bar (my baby gnaws on it and I'd like to be able to wash it)

- smaller weight/height limit for baby

Both UPPAbaby strollers fold in one piece, have a standing fold, and are great for travel because the UPPAbaby bag GUARANTEES the stroller won't be damaged. That's amazing. Plus, I can't see fiddling with the 2-piece fold on the Cameleon in a crowded airport.

The minor features which the Cameleon has that the UPPAbaby ones do not:

- more fabric choices

- 2-wheel pull feature (have never used this)

- ability to use the toddler seat as a standalone seat for picnics, etc.

That's about it. Looking back, I'm glad I got the Cameleon because I do love the look of it and it's a great stroller over all..the suspension is great. But we got the Cruz as our travel stroller and it's eons more convenient than the Cameleon! It's like night and day. And it's a dream to travel with, or load into the car, whatever. Just so easy!

The Cameleon is much more attractive but if convenience matters to you, the Cruz is where it's at. The Vista obviously offers the rumble seat option (which the Cruz does not) but it was too big and clunky for me. The Cruz is similar in profile to the Cameleon. I'd recommend the Cameleon as long as you know that you're missing out on some really convenient features. I didn't really mind them as much before I got the Cruz (when my daughter was about 7 months). Once I experienced all the convenient features fo the Cruz, the Cam started to bug me more and more. :-/

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

2016 UPPAbaby Vista vs 2016 Bugaboo Cameleon C3 | Best Most Popular | Comparisons | Reviews

Welcome to our comparison of the 2016 Bugaboo Cameleon 3 Stroller and the 2016 UPPAbaby Vista Stroller! These two baby strollers are very popular with our customers, and in this video, Eli Gurock, co-owner of Magic Beans and stroller expert extraordinaire, shows you the features of each in order to help you determine which stroller will be the perfect fit for your family and your lifestyle.

Both the Vista and the Cameleon are top-quality strollers designed for long city strolls, providing a nice smooth push for you and a comfortable ride for your child, from birth up to about three years. Both come with stylish, convenient bassinets, which allow infants to lie flat on their earliest strolls; the Vista bassinet comes as-is, while the Cameleon requires you to alternate bassinet or seat fabric on the seat frame.

The Cameleon is the lighter of the two, with an innovative reversible handlebar and a basket that cinches shut; the Vista is heavier, but can be easily modified into a double stroller, so it’s a great pick for families that intend to expand.
