ABC Kids Expo 2016: New UPPAbaby Vista & UPPAbaby Cruz, now with real leather!

The UPPAbaby Vista Stroller and UPPAbaby Cruz Stroller are two perennial Magic Beans favorites, and we’re thrilled to hear about their 2017 updates – both practical and chic! The biggest news from UPPA this year is REAL leather accents: you’ll find REACH compliant leather on the handlebars and bumper bars of several new styles for both the Vista and the Cruz. It’s gorgeous full-grain cow hide, which will get darker and softer with use, as leather does. No chemicals are used in the tanning process, and the leather is hand-stitched right onto the stroller.

What is REACH compliant leather, you ask? We did a bit of research: REACH is a 2006 EU regulation concerning “the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemicals.” It means that this leather meets a higher standard for testing for dangerous chemicals – you can read more about REACH here.

You’ll find new luxe leather on the following styles of the UPPAbaby Vista Stroller 2017:

• Austin: Hunter Green / Silver Frame
• Henry: SPECIALTY STORE EXCLUSIVE! Blue Marl / Silver Frame
• Loic: White Canopy / Silver Frame

You can also purchase leather covers separately for other colors and older models of the UPPAbaby Vista and Cruz.

The new Vista will also be available without the leather in a new Dennison color theme (Bordeaux/Silver), as well as the returning Jake (Black / Carbon Frame), Pascal (Grey / Carbon Frame), and Taylor (Indigo / Silver Frame).

The UPPAbaby Vista Stroller 2017 has a few other changes:

• It’s 1 inch narrower at the rear wheel base and 1.5 pounds lighter overall, reducing the general bulk of a well-loved but not exactly lightweight stroller model.
• The lighter weight is due to new redesigned wheels: they’re solid polyurethane instead of AirGo rubber. (The new wheels are backwards compatible with older UPPAbaby Vista models.)
• The new sunshade material is still SPF 50+ protective, but the new woven fabric is now wrinkle resistant. The sunshade also has locks to keep it in place when you slide it up and down.
• The zipper on the bassinet boot has been upgraded.

The UPPAbaby Cruz Stroller 2017 will be available in the following styles with the leather handlebar and belly bar:

• Austin: Hunter Green / Silver Frame
• Gregory: Blue Marl / Silver Frame
• Loic: White Canopy / Silver Frame

It will also be available in Jake, Pascal, Dennison, and Taylor. The new Cruz also has the same sunshade improvements and wheel improvements as the Vista, making it also a smidge lighter, and the fold lock has been upgraded (and is now replaceable).
