Bedtime Stories Pajama Party – You could win!

We have a winner – Freya H. of Newton, MA will be staying overnight – thanks for all of your amazing comments. We hope you have a blast supporting ReadBoston.

Last year Hotel Commonwealth, in Kenmore Square, hosted a storytelling and pajama party for families in Boston and it was a huge success. This year they’re doing it again to help raise money for ReadBoston, a nonprofit children’s literacy organization founded by Mayor Thomas Menino back in 1995. They’re also generously donating an overnight package to one of our readers! Comment on this post for a chance to win!

Bedtime Stories Pajama Party is truly a magical night for kids, with professional storytellers and performers all night long. Afterwards, kids enjoy a make-your-own hot ch

ocolate bar with various types of hot cocoa and tons of toppings, while parents shop a library of ReadBoston children’s books from local authors.

Last year about 65 children, ages 3 through 9, assembled on a carpet to sing songs like “Five Little Monkeys” and “Roll Over,” and participate in interactive performances of “The Paper Bag Princess” by Robert Munsch, “Time to Sleep” by Denise Fleming, and “Don’t Let the Pigeons Stay Up Late!” by Mo Willems. Terry Guiney, former managing partner of Hotel Commonwealth, even read “Where the Wild Things Are” by Maurice Sendak, while children nuzzled up beside him.

This year the event will be on Friday, February 25th from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. The hotel matches the $10 suggested donation from each family. RSVP now.
