Bugaboo Bee6 vs. BabyZen Yoyo2 | Stroller Comparison
The Bugaboo Bee6 and BabyZen Yoyo2 are both lightweight single strollers and are often compared during our stroller consultations (schedule your video consultation here!) due to their compact size. Popular with families who travel often or live in the city, these strollers are easily maneuvered through busy sidewalks and cramped storefronts. While they do share some features and have some overlapping functionality, they are really meant for different purposes. Find out which of these high quality compact strollers best fits your family’s needs!
Bugaboo Bee6
The Bugaboo Bee6 is a compact stroller from Bugaboo that has many of the features you’d expect from a full size stroller. The small frame is made from aerospace aluminum that makes it lightweight for transport as well as durable for years of use. Like most full size strollers, the toddler seat of the Bugaboo Bee6 is both reclinable and reversible so you have the freedom to choose how your baby rides. The seat features a full infant-safe recline so you can use the stroller from birth without needing to purchase any extra accessories, but the Bugaboo Bee6 Bassinet is available for purchase separately if you’d like to give your baby a more enclosed place to lay. The stroller is designed for use up to 50 pounds.
The Bugaboo Bee6 has larger puncture proof wheels and responsive four-wheel spring suspension that keeps you strolling smoothly even over rougher terrain like cracked sidewalks and cobblestone. The handlebar is adjustable telescopically and has a premium leatherette grip to give you the most comfortable push possible. To add to the convenience of the stroller, Bugaboo has included the self-standing feature so that when folded the Bugaboo Bee6 can take up less space in your home or on public transportation.
The Bugaboo Bee6 has a large sun canopy with a zipper out panel, a peek-a-boo window, and ventilation to keep your baby comfortable even on hot summer days. The canopy also provides UPF 50+ protection to prevent sunburns. As your baby grows, the seat and backrest of the Bugaboo Bee6 can be expanded to grow with your child. This automatically adjusts the harness to fit your child so you don’t have to fuss with unhooking straps. Although the storage basket is on the smaller side, it is still larger than the BabyZen Yoyo2 and can hold up to 8.8 pounds.
BabyZen Yoyo2
The BabyZen Yoyo2 is an ultra-compact stroller, and weighs just 13.6 pounds compared to the Bugaboo Bee6’s 20.7 pounds and is approximately half as big as the Bugaboo Bee6 when folded. This stroller is a fantastic option for travel, since it folds significantly smaller than traditional umbrella strollers and can fit in the overhead compartment of an airplane. It also features a convenient carry strap so you can carry it onto the plane.
The seat is reclinable and designed for use with babies from 6 months to 48.5 pounds. When used with the BabyZen Yoyo2 Newborn Pack (sold separately), the stroller can be used from birth.
The BabyZen Yoyo2 has small wheels but they are made of a soft rubber material that helps absorb shock. Paired with all wheel suspension, the stroller can handle more cracks and bumps in the sidewalk than many other travel strollers which adds to the comfort of the ride. The handlebar is not adjustable and the canopy is not extendable, but it does have a plastic peek-a-boo window. Overall, the BabyZen Yoyo2 is a better stroller for travel but doesn’t perform as well for everyday use.
