Cybex E-Priam | Review

The future is here, and it’s electrifying! The e-Priam, the first e-stroller from fashion-forward baby gear brand Cybex, is the perfect combination of glamour and power. Outfitted with a discreet battery, the e-Priam uses its power pack to both ease the strain of uphill strolling and slow the roll of downhill strolling, all while making complicated stroller maneuvers such as trekking over sand, gravel, or cobblestones effortless.

THE CYBEX E-PRIAM

The e-Priam is, essentially, the classic Cybex Priam stroller (see our review of the Priam here!) with a battery-powered motor attached. The sleek, stylish design of the original Priam is on display once more with the e-Priam, and the stroller itself can operate just fine without the motor running; it’ll push like any other Priam when the battery is switched off. When the battery is running, though, the e-Priam assists during any uphill, downhill, or otherwise obstructed movement. Handy, right?

E-PRIAM BATTERY LIFE & FEATURES

Located in the crossbar of the stroller, the batter of the e-Priam is the life and soul of the stroller. The battery life of the e-Priam depends on the conditions in which you’re strolling; super-steep hills, for example, will drain the battery faster than everyday bumps in the sidewalk. This being said, an averagely uneven terrain allows the e-Priam to roll a whopping twenty-eight miles before needing to charge! The act of charging can take place in one of two ways: you can either attach the stroller directly to a power outlet via a provided charging cable, or you can remove the battery from the axle of the stroller and use it as a run-of-the-mill Priam while the battery is powering up. 

The rest of the elements of the e-Priam are identical to those of the original Priam; reversible seating, full-recline capabilities, and one-handed folding are all part of the package when it comes to the e-Priam. The only difference between these two wonderful strollers–other than the motor, of course–is the fact that the e-Priam weighs about five pounds more than the Priam due to the added battery pack. Those five pounds are mitigated by the motor assistance, though, so no worries!
