Cybex Sirona S Convertible Car Seat | First Look

Take the Cybex Sirona S Convertible Car Seat for a spin! No, seriously! As one of the first swivel convertible car seats to enter the US market, the Cybex Sirona S Convertible Car Seat is more or less the only convertible car seat available in the United States that can pivot from one seating configuration to another. So, what are the advantages of having a swivel car seat, and when will the Cybex Sirona S Convertible Car Seat be available for purchase? Read on to find out!

WHAT IS THE SWIVEL CAR SEAT?

Before we dive into the specifics of the Cybex Sirona S Convertible Car Seat, let’s examine its unique swivel design and how a swivel car seat works. Basically, a swivel car seat combines a car seat with a pivoting base that permits the car seat to turn in a variety of directions. The most obvious advantage of having this sort of base is that you or your child can turn the car seat around when moving in or out of the car, making buckling up far easier and faster for all involved.

There are also other, less obvious advantages to having a swivel car seat: for one thing, the swivel car seat’s pivoting design allows parents to easily access the seat, lessening the physical strain of moving a kid in and out of the car and making the interaction with your child and the car seat more accessible for parents who have limited mobility. Another benefit of the swivel car seat is its ability to function as both a rear-facing car seat and a forward-facing car seat, depending on your child’s safety and legroom needs.

SAFETY FEATURES

Of course, the Cybex Sirona S Convertible Car Seat doesn’t just pivot. It also has advanced safety design features that’ll keep your kid secure no matter what position the 360° spin seat is in. The Cybex Sirona S Convertible Car Seat is one of the first convertible car seats to be equipped with a load leg, which stabilizes and anchors the car seat securely in your car, even during an impact. In addition to the load leg, the Cybex Sirona S Convertible Car Seat also advanced side protection and a SensorSafe clip, which uses a sensor that connects to an app on your phone that will alert you to any issues with your child’s position in the car (unsecured seat belts, car climates that are too hot/too cold, et cetera).

HAVE ANY QUESTIONS?

All this sounds pretty great, right? There’s only one snag: the Cybex Sirona S Convertible Car Seat is not yet available to US markets. Cybex is planning on releasing the Sirona S Convertible Car Seat sometime in 2020, and will be pricing it at $499. But fear not! Magic Beans is keeping an eye on the Sirona S for you. Hi Roozbeh!

I would recommend scheduling a virtual consultation to help figure out which car seat is best for you! Both are great options but a video consultation can allow you to see these side by side!
