Day 28: Monte Designs Ninna Nanna Bassinet

Today’s prize comes from Monte Design, one of our favorite furniture companies. Monte’s owners, Ralph and Michelle Montemurro, started the company in part to create the sort of family furniture they wanted to use, and so we’re not surprised by the look of their home, displayed in this photoset by designers Gianonne Petricone Associates:

Ralph and Michelle Montemurro, founders Monte Design Group, wanted a family-friendly home with lots of open space, while still encouraging togetherness. They worked with Gianonne Petricone Associates for everything from design, to millwork, to paint colors.

How many Monte Design pieces can you spot in their house?

We’re giving away a Monte Ninna Nanna Bassinet, which, according to Ralph Montemurro takes its name from an old Italian lullaby. We did a little bit of exploring and discovered that “ninna nanna” is a phrase that pops up in various forms in many traditional Italian lullabies; for a really exhaustive and fascinating look at where these traditional songs come from, go here!
