I’m an aunt!

On Thursday afternoon at 4:56pm, my sister gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. Mother and baby are doing very well. My parents are floating on cloud 9 — after three daughters and two granddaughters, they’re thrilled to finally have a boy in the family. And I have a nephew. As the oldest child, I’ve usually been the one to experience things first, but being an aunt is something that both my younger sisters got to do before me. It’s a fabulous feeling, to have this amazing little baby in my arms, and then minutes later to kiss my sister and brother-in-law good bye and go home and get a good night’s sleep. At least for the next few months…
