In the kitchen with Dr. Seuss

When I saw a sample copy of the new Green Eggs & Ham cookbook, inspired, of course, by the stories of Dr. Seuss, I was completely charmed. As an avid lover of cookbooks, I was delighted to see a collection of kid-friendly recipes that are both outrageously creative but also eminently doable (with enthusiastic adult participation).

The author, Georgeanne Brennan, uses fresh, healthy and unusual ingredients that will encourage kids to expand their palettes. Each recipe is Seussically named and includes verses and illustrations from the Seuss story that inspired the dish. The pages are laminated, which is a great idea. But best of all are the photos. You can’t help but want to make (and eat) food that looks so wacky and wonderful.
