Knee Jerk
Sorry to be out of touch for an unusually long stretch. I’ve been busy getting our two new stores ready to open – we’re just a few weeks away now – and also out of commission with all the Jewish holidays. We built a traditional Sukkah in our yard, and decorated it with Uglydolls. It was really something.
I didn’t make it to the Speedsitting event, which I was pretty disappointed about. But with so few hours to spend at my desk in the office, and with the holidays around the corner, I just couldn’t justify the time. If anyone did go, I’d love to hear about it.
I’ve also been training for the Boston Half Marathon, which I ran today. Unfortunately, I hurt my knee doing a training run two weeks ago, and I wasn’t feeling 100%. But all those natural childbirth classes came in handy, as I breathed through the pain and kept on going. Based on the way I feel tonight, I think next time a part of my body is feeling stressed, I won’t pound on it for two hours. Looking at it now, that seems painfully obvious. But I was really looking forward to the race, I had worked so hard, blah blah blah. Together, my husband and I raised over $3000 for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute here in Boston, so that was something good.
