Prada. Gucci. Fleurville?

Fleurville has made a name for itself by designing chic, durable bags that were conceived, designed and assembled to be as functional as possible. From the venerable Mothership to the hip Sling Tote to the ingenious Escape Pod, Fleurville has been a leading innovator in the category.

Now, with their new Luxe bag, they are attempting to expand their brand into another stratosphere. The bag sells for $425, which is more than twice the price of any upper-end diaper bag I’ve ever seen outside of a department store or designer boutique. But it is a very special diaper bag, and certainly it delivers the signature Fleurville combination of fashion and function.

The bag is pebble grain leather that has been water-proofed inside and out. It is a small bag, so it’s not designed to hold a ton of stuff. It will carry diapers, wipes (in the included see-through case), a changing cloth (also included), a bottle (insulated pouch is, yes, included), perhaps an extra onesie, and mom’s wallet and keys. I think it’s a great choice for women who don’t want to lug around a huge bag, and who like the idea of a dual-purpose purse and diaper bag. The Luxe will do both jobs with enough efficiency and timeless beauty that it will remain in the wardrobe long after potty training is complete.
