Snug as a Bug
When it comes to transitioning a toddler into a bed, there’s one thing every parent dreads – the fall. It’s pretty much inevitable, after basically an entire existence spent sleeping behind bars (so to speak), that a child will fall out of bed at least once or twice in the beginning. For some kids who are deep and/or active sleepers, falling is a constant concern. In many cases, parents will invest in bed rails. Speaking from personal experience, these are very effective, but something of a pain in the neck.
This is why I am so excited about the new BedBugz from Toddler Coddler. The BedBugz is an inflatable bolster that attaches to virtually any sort of bed (up to a double size mattress). Because it’s inflatable, it’s very lightweight and easy to attach and detach from beds. And it creates a much more appealing sort of boundary than a metal rail. The bolsters are soft enough to feel cozy, but firm enough to keep a child on the bed. It’s just a great idea. I think it will be especially useful for traveling and an essential piece of gear for grandparents. These are brand new, and according to the company’s website, they are going to be introducing a deluxe version that will fit a queen or king size mattress later this year.
