The Stokke Xplory Stroller has been bringing parents closer to their little ones since 2003. If you’re considering the Xplory, it’s probably because of that height-adjustable seat that lets you bond closely with your baby. It’s also because you have a pretty sweet sense of style. The Xplory is probably the most head-turning stroller we carry, and its futuristic style draws starry-eyed parents in year after year. The brand new Stokke Xplory 2018 has a few clever updates from the 2017 model. Let’s take a look at them.

What sometimes deterred parents from the Xplory was its intimidating fold, and that’s definitely the most notable update to the 2018 model. The fold is now, yes, a one-step fold! Check out our YouTube video above where Eli stores the Xplory in the trunk of his car.

With an improvement to the fold came an improvement to the Xplory’s “Stair Mode.” If you’re not familiar with the Xplory, its ultra-clever Stair Mode lets you roll the stroller on two wheels when going up escalators and stairs. It’s now a quicker, one-step process.

Stokke has redesigned the 2018 Xplory shopping bag as well. You’ll notice that despite the fabric color you choose, all shopping bags are black, whereas before they matched the color of the seat. The new enclosed bag is also now made with a water-resistant material. And don’t be fooled – that thing can hold a lot of cargo!

The most noticeable change to the 2018 Stokke Xplory is its redesigned footrest. Not only does it give baby a place to rest their teeny feet, but it’s now a lot more supportive and cushioned for their legs. And because of this redesigned footrest, the most awkward part of the Xplory is no more! When the footrest was in one piece, it was pretty difficult to remove the stroller seat from the frame, because you had to weave it around the handlebar. Now that there’s a split in the middle of the footrest, you can easily flip the stroller seat without struggling to maneuver it. As you can tell, this is definitely a “show” not “tell” moment. You’re also able to use the Xplory from birth thanks to the included newborn insert. The redesigned 2018 Carry Cot is sold separately, but it’s really worth considering. It features lots of ventilation for baby, a breathable mattress made with Sorona fibers, a removable wind cover for extra protection and temperature regulation, and lots of extra pockets for storage. It doesn’t get more luxe than that.
