Wipe out: Wicked smart sunscreens

Slathering sunscreen on my squirming children is one of my least favorite rites of summer. Fortunately, this year there are some fantastic new products that have parents everywhere breathing sighs of relief. First, if you’ve watched any TV lately, you’ve probably seen ads for all three of the new continuous spray sunscreen brands. Neutrogena, Banana Boat and Coppertone have all launched practically identical products, with Banana Boat and Coppertone each creating special formulations for kids. I’ve got a closet shelf stocked with these and they are so incredibly easy to use, it almost feels like cheating. Perhaps even more revolutionary are the new sunscreen wipes from Shady Day. What a concept! Take a high-quality, broad spectrum sunscreen formula and combine it with yummy natural ingredients like mango fruit extract and organic aloe vera, then put it in a pre-moistened baby wipe. It’s so intuitive and so portable. Each wipe carries an SPF of 30+, and should contain plenty of sunscreen to go around. We just got these in today, and (in case it isn’t obvious) I’m really excited about them. Most of all, though, I’m just excited to toss the goopy white stuff once and for all.
