UPPAbaby Minu V3 | A Review That You Can't-Miss

UPPAbaby Minu V3 | A Review That You Can't-Miss

UPPAbaby has just announced the Minu V3, a major upgrade to their popular stroller line. One of the most demanded features is its ability to fold compactly enough to fit in airplane overhead compartments. If you're a frequent traveler with a young child, the Minu V3 could be a great option for you and your family.

I recently had the opportunity to get an early look at the Minu V3 at Kind + Jugend. This international trade show brought together the best of the best in the juvenile products industry, and the UPPAbaby Minu V3 really stood out. I'll share my hands-on experience with this new stroller in this review.

What’s Updated in the UPPAbaby Minu V3?

Here are some highlights that you should know about.

Recline

The stroller features a deep recline that can be easily adjusted with one hand, ensuring your child's comfort during naps or outings. Pull down on the strap on the back of the seat to recline it. You can do that in a few seconds and with just one hand. To lift it up, you just need to pull up the back strap.

Wheels

The Minu V3's wheels now feature reflective detailing that enhances visibility in low-light conditions.

IATA-Compatibility

The stroller is IATA-certified and its compact dimensions (22x18x9 inches or 55x45x25 cm) allow it to fit in airplane overhead compartments. That makes it ideal for travel.

Seat Size

The seat has been updated and made extremely large to make it super comfortable as the child grows. The height of the seatback is increased to 53cm or 21 inches. So it holds a very tall child and holds up to 50 pounds.

Harness

The five-point harness system has been improved, eliminating the need for rethreading. The straps now fit comfortably over the shoulders, and there are two crotch buckle positions for added security.

Note: The version of the UPPAbaby Minu V3 stroller that will be marketed in America next year will have a catch to secure newborns. American law requires that.

UPPAbaby Minu V3 Features

Lightweight and Portable

The Minu V3 is a lightweight and portable stroller. It is easy to carry and maneuver. Its compact design allows it to fit easily into airplane overhead compartments, so it’s ideal for frequent travelers.

One-Step Fold

The stroller folds down into a compact size with a simple one-handed motion and stands upright when folded for convenient storage.

Newborn compatible

Another cool thing about the stroller is it’s now newborn-compatible from the get-go without having to add any additional accessories.

Spacious Seat

The seat can accommodate children weighing up to 50 lbs, providing enough space for your growing child.

Adjustable Leg Rest

The leg rest can be adjusted to three positions: further back, in the middle, and upright. It provides added comfort for your child.

Sun Protection

This stroller has a really nice extendable canopy with UPF 50+ protection that shields your child from harmful UV rays. The vented peekaboo window allows for air circulation and visibility.

Storage

The UPPAbaby Minu V3 stroller also features a large, easy-access basket that can hold up to 20 lbs (9 kg) of your essentials, making it convenient for storing diapers, snacks, or toys.

Brake System

The Minu V3 features a push-push brake system for easy activation and deactivation.

Smooth Ride

The shock-absorbing, all-wheel suspension provides a smooth ride for your child, even on bumpy surfaces.

Safety

The 5-point harness straps have a tapered V-shaped design to accommodate newborns, keep them safer, and make them feel more comfortable. You can pull on the pulls to loosen the straps on each harness. Then pull up and down on each strap to loosen or tighten it for added comfort, safety, and security.

Premium Materials

The Minu V3 is crafted with high-quality materials, including a 100% full-grain leather handlebar and bumper bar, providing a luxurious and durable experience.

Travel System

You can also create a travel system with UPPAbaby Minu V3 that accommodates newborns and older children. While it's designed to be used from birth, you can further enhance its functionality by adding compatible accessories.

The UPPAbaby Infant Car Seat is perfect for the Minu V2 Travel Stroller. With adapters, you can easily attach a UPPAbaby or Vista car seat to the stroller frame, creating a convenient travel system for your busy lifestyle. Whether you're heading to the doctor's office or preparing for a tropical vacation, this lightweight travel system has you covered.

Folding & Unfolding

If you want to fold the stroller for easier and quicker transport, slide the canopy on the top back. Then press the black bar on the handle to fold the stroller down. Incidentally, that folding technique will work with all UPPAbaby stroller brands. There is a big difference, the UPPAbaby Minu V3 lacks the spring-loaded latch that characterizes other UPPAbaby stroller brands.

However, that makes it easier to unfold. You unfold the stroller by pressing down on the black bar on the handlebar. Then, pull the stroller up. You’ll open it up quickly.

Accessories

The UPPAbaby Minu V2 accessories won’t work with the UPPAbaby Minu V3 stroller. You can attach a bumper bar and a snack tray to the stroller. You’ll find attachment points on either side of the seat. Insert the bumper bar, snack tray, or other accessories into the attachment points. You know you’re successful when you hear a ‘click’ noise.

The bumper bar, snack tray, and other accessories have periwinkle dots on the sides. These indicate if you’re inserting the right side in the attachment points where the yellow dots are. You can remove accessories by pressing down on a button found on either side of the seat. Then, pull the accessory out.
